Did Popular Websites Start an Aggressive Fanboy War?

The question in mind is, did popular websites start an aggressive fanboy war? More specifically, did IGN start these aggressive fanboy wars we see today? It all begins with favoritism toward ones console. IGN is one of the most known “All Things Video Game” websites in the US and heck, maybe even the whole world. Put that in mind, the question above comes to mind.

Now, many of you may be like, “Huh, what is this dude talking about”, let me explain, I said that it all begins with favoritism towards ones console, as which IGN did towards the beginning of the Next Gen Console releases, i.e. the 360. Though back then, not very noticeable because 360 would be out for a whole year before PS3 would be released, and obviously, 360 would reign supreme over any other console at the time. 2006 November, the PS3 finally met release date, and many games would be ported to it. Unfortunately, these popular sites had already developed a unique love for Microsoft’s Xbox 360, and in the end, causing trouble for the PS3. Why? many of you may think; simple, all games ported from 360 to the PS3 would receive horrible reviews when compared to those of the 360 reviews which would in the end, make 360 fans say something in the lines of, “You losers got a shitty console, all the games aren’t nearly as good as 360″. Take for example, F.E.A.R (First Encounter Assault Recon), IGN gave it an 8.1 to the PS3 version when the 360 version received a 9.1 or Call of Duty 3 for the PS3 which got a 7.8 when it received an 8.8 on 360. Many games that got ported got worse reviews on the PS3, just because they came later, but in fact, all these games were the same games with the exception of some games that had DLC available through XBLA, though DLC doesn’t count for the original score of a game and it shouldn’t.

Aside from ported games, games that were released at the same time for both PS3 and 360 would have close scores, but always lower on the PS3, my guess is because the PS3 reviewers had already made up their minds towards 360 being their console of choice.

Now we have everyone hating each other for their console of choice talking about killing each other or the wish of death to the other, which this wasn’t a big issue with last gen consoles. So, now I’m here saying, why IGN? Why pit us against each other?
Blame these big corporate industries for fanboy wars today.

Street Fighter 4 & Resident Evil 5 Are Coming To PS Home

Posted by PAYBACK-IRONMAN | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Tuesday 3 February 2009 6:39 pm

It looks like Capcom is looking to support PS Home is a big way. Famitsu revealed that Capcoms games will be getting some very special Home treatment. First off Capcom will be selling costumes modelled after famous Street Fighter Characters for gamers to wear when in Home. Also Resident Evil 5 will be getting costumes as well and its very own Home Space. Although none of the special features and events in the space where revealed at the time. On top of that both games will get patches after release to enable  gamers to jump right in and out of a game when in Home.

All of this looks incredible and I’m glad to see that Capcom is supporting Home and  I hope to see more developers do this in the future.

Oprah Winfrey won’t be able to ignore 50 Cent any longer. According to a ‘Top Earning African American Stars’ List released by Forbes Magazine, 50 Cent comes in right behind the popular talk show queen.

The list, which appears as a video report published on January 29, 2009, by Forbes.com lists 50 Cent as the second top earning African American star. The report based its rankings on how much the stars raked in from June 2007 to June 2008.

According to Forbes, 50 raked in $150 million over the aforementioned period via his clothing line, music, video games and the purchase of his stake in Glaceau Vitamin Water by Coca Cola in 2007.

Expect to see 50 on the list in the future. The rapper recently launched a film company and has plans to launch his own line of dietary supplements.

50 is currently gearing up to release his fourth solo album Before I Self Destruct in March. The album will feature appearances from Eminem, Dr. Dre and G-Unit rappers Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo.

P Diddy Says “DJ’s Killed Hip Hop” Yet Mr. Cee A DJ Introduced Him To Biggie What A Dumb Ass Comment

Posted by hiphopgamer | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Tuesday 3 February 2009 6:08 pm

SEAN COMBS has blamed a current lack of creativity in the global DJ scene for stifling hip-hop music. The rap mogul is adamant that the genre is in the midst of a “recession” because there are so few talented beatmakers around to help create interesting tracks.

He tells MTV.com, “People have figured out the formula when they make records for radio, and DJs ain’t DJs no more. DJs don’t break records no more. DJs don’t play album cuts. DJs play what is going to move the crowd. DJs, they don’t expose you to the newness. That was the DJs’ thing. Hip-hop is in a recession also.”

But Combs is convinced that there is enough fresh, young talent in the music industry at the moment to make sure that rap artists will continue to sell records.

He adds, “(Hip-hop) is not dead, it’s definitely way better than where it was at, as far as with ‘Ye, T.I. and with Jeezy. It’s so much great stuff out there, the responsibility has to come with the DJs.”

Is Europe Choosing Microsoft Over Sony Now?

Posted by Agent-X | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Tuesday 3 February 2009 2:32 am

It has been days or even months that the PS3 was outselling the 360 for a very long time even after 360’s major 199 price cut but after all the shafting Sony did to Europe as far as releasing videogames last in their territory all the time even now you can’t play street fighter HD in Europe, lackluster playstation store updates for Europe, and even launching last in Europe instead of a worldwide launch like 360 it seems that Europe are fighting back with their money and giving it to the competition.
