The Killer?

Posted by Agent-X | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Thursday 5 February 2009 11:29 pm

I’ve seen alot of articles about how a PS3 game like Resistence, Killzone, and Uncharted will be the Halo or gears killer. I am sick and tired of having to hear why a PS3 game will be the death of a game on a entirely different console. I mean, come the hell on.  Sonic was never the Mario killer. Warcraft never killed starcraft. I mean, just because they are the same type of game, doesn’t mean that they even need to compete. Why not both. I mean, I have Resistence, Uncharted, and am getting Killzone 2 ASAP, but that doesnt mean that I am going to go to my 360 owning friend’s houses and kill there games with mine. First of all. Gears 2 wasn’t all that great, some might argue differently, but it really didn’t kill anything. Gears 1 was amazing, but if anything it killed Halo for me. I can see how one might have to pic one on the same console, but two different consoles, released at 2 different times. And since when was Gears and Uncharted competing? Never? Oh yeh thats right, there not. Thank you for reading this here at Hiphopgamershow. If you want to chew me out and say im anti PS3, then whatever. Im just reminding all of you that games are meant to be played, not fought.

Killzone 2 on track to shatter Gears 2 day one sales?

Posted by hiphopgamer | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Thursday 5 February 2009 11:28 pm

A staggering 1.1 million is already pre-ordered in the European region and it’s still early in the month, the demo just debuted and the major marketing still hasn’t begun. America is rumored to be neck and neck with European numbers according to Amazon, Gamestop, and Walmart pre-order numbers, and surprisingly the Japanese seem to be interested in this FPS as well, which isn’t very common in Japan. Japan usually fly with RPGs but this can prove yet to be an amazing seller even in their region. Killzone 2 is on it’s way to being a world wide phenomenal hit for sony’s black box and can possibly compete against Halo 3 as far as numbers. Aside from pre-orders, there are those who buy at stores like Target day 1 which are usually overstocked with everything (ME)!

What this means is that more people are going to pick up the PS3, and when the PS3 drops to $299 later this year, then the holiday season for 2009 already looks a lot brighter with more titles that will be coming such as Heavy Rain, inFamous, Uncharted 2, Gran Turismo 5, MAG(Yes this game is still coming out) and more titles that haven’t been announced yet. Sony is now in position to become number 1 once again with a slew of quality games, solid online experience, Blu-Ray HD movies, and a potential price cut later on this year, the ps3 in 2009 has significantly justified it’s price, and it’s reasons to be in the best preference of consumers.

Can the Xbox 360 Last Longer Than PS3 This Generation? Shane Kim said that they will consider Xbox a winner if they last longer than PS3 because the 360 is cheaper, easier to develop for, and has a larger install base, all signs would point to yes. The PS3 will always remain the most expensive console on the market which is fact. Game quality counts too, such seen in KZ2, R2, LBP but, 360 has great quality games as well. Until PS3 sales surpass 360 month in and month out by a large margin consistently, then the 360 will remain the champ in sales.

Is Killzone 2 being overhyped?

Posted by Killa-Indian | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Thursday 5 February 2009 4:31 pm

Okay guys I just played the demo. I went in expecting so much. Graphically I was satisfied, but I just had so many problems with it.

I love COD4, and love the pace and controls. I switched my controls to Alternate 2, so it matches up more with COD. My ultimate issue with the game is the aiming. The aiming is great, and realistic, but too realistic. Even when I am standing absolutely still, and I aim and shoot, I still occasionally do not hit on target. It is that occasional part that really pisses me off. I mean in practically every game, when you stand still you are pretty much dead accurate, but in Killzone 2, it is not as accurate as you’d expect. Even when you crouching. For online, this can be a major problem, because then that slight chance of missing when you clearly are aiming at the head, and are still or crouched, can ruin your kill streak or anything. The game could just become a game of luck.

I don’t know, I think you just have to get used to the controls, because since it focuses on realism so much, you do not turn or be as accurate as you’d expect. I like that frankly. That means it is going to be more challenging to master. I am sure that the class system will easily fix this issue, but then it would cause a major imbalance. From what I have played, I am not as excited to really play the game as I previously was, but excited none the less.

Do you think all the hype for the game and all the reviews might ruin or make the game any less satisfying? By that I mean, with all the hype do you think gamers will be expecting so much, but when they play the game, it is not close to what they imagined?

I for one had a lot of high expectations, but wasn’t as satisfied as I thought I would be. I love it, but not as much as I thought I would. Then again, this is the demo, so things will change.

For those who played the Multiplayer Beta, let me know how the accuracy was in that.

Killzone 2 Demo To Include Multiplayer?

Posted by Agent-X | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Thursday 5 February 2009 4:24 am

There is another rumour going around saying that Killzone 2 demo may include multiplayer.

PS3hype has quoted – If the demo is 1.2 gig in size. This is very big for half level demo since the multiplayer beta was only 400MB size.

This could therefore mean that in addition to a singleplayer level multplayer also a demo of it. And of course Sony invalidated this rumor because they want to keep as a surprise.

Other then that the demo will be released tonight for Europe and soon for other countries.

Full game will hit shelves on:

27 February 2009 (USA)

25 February 2009 (EU)

26 February 2009 (AUS)

TBA 2009 (JP)

PS3 Shuts Up Gabe Newell!

Posted by hiphopgamer | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Thursday 5 February 2009 12:24 am

Gabe Newell stated that the PS3 is a bad console, a failure, and that Sony should stop making it and try again. He refuse to develop games for the PS3 console because of its hard-to-develop-for cell, or so he says. This means we wont be seeing any PS3 port of Left 4 Dead. This also should have been obvious when Valve laughed and said they can’t wait to see Left 4 Dead on the PS3 (which they were being sarcastic). Gabe Newell needs to check his sources again because it is fact, that Valve hasn’t ever made anything close to the quality of killzone 2 this generation on the so called easy-to-develop-for platform labeled Xbox 360. Gabe Newell, as a well respected game developer should welcome the challenge, game development is not always going to be easy and you have to work hard at it to get amazing results as shown in Killzone 2. Until Gabe Newell can prove that he can out do anything of full potential for the PS3 on the 360, then he will eat his own words regarding the PS3 being terminated or being a failure.
