Will GTA IV: The Lost and Damned Raise The Bar For DLC In General?

Posted by PAYBACK-IRONMAN | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Monday 16 February 2009 9:11 pm

When you think of downloadable content what is it that comes to mind? Is it extra costumes, new playable characters and weapons or even a continuation of the story?  Certain games will charge you $10 just for a few costumes or an extra level that can be completed in under an hour and after that you ask yourself is this really what justifies as downloadable content ? Well the upcoming expansion for the GTA IV titled “The Lost and Damned” is giving you new weapons, a new playable character, music, cars, additional online modes and a entire new GTA story that can take 15-20 hours to complete all for the low price of $19.99. Has Rockstar changed the way downloadable content should be made? The answer is yes.

Now some people might be thinking that its not gonna have the same quality of GTA IV. Well has there ever been a bad GTA game since GTA 3? No, Rockstar knows that if they were to screw this up it could really put a dent in there fan base and make Microsoft regret handing them $50 million for the DLC to be exclusive to the Xbox 360, Rockstar knows how to make quality products that will please there fans and why should you doubt them when it comes to downloadable content? Another thing that I would like to add is if you haven’t read the reviews then then I suggest you do because critics are claiming that “The Lost and Damned storyline surpassess the previous GTA IV story and that for $19.99  you are basically stealing a brand new GTA game.”

So maybe after The Lost and Damned is released we will see developers look at this and then they’ll take the extra time and effort to create great additional content for there game, which can earn them more money and best of all build a stronger fan base for there current and future products.

So what do you guys think? Is The Lost and Damned the future of DLC or just a waste of time?

Best looking Females in Games: Part 1

Posted by hiphopgamer | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Monday 16 February 2009 8:31 pm

Do note they aren’t in order from best to worst as I see each better than the next and repeat.
Ivy – Soul Calibur: Though Dangerous, this is the hottest female in the Soul Calibur universe.

Lara Croft (Newest Lara) – Tomb Raider: Though I wouldn’t necessarily pick all the Crofts, I will pick the newest one from Underworld. In my opinion, she is the best looking Lara Croft ever. I mean this for the game, and the actual female they used for her model.

Cammy – Street Fighter: Small and in charge. Hot for a little one isn’t she?

Lili – Tekken: Though an odd way to spell her name, she is a beautiful girl with a daddy’s little girl charm to her.

Kasumi – Dead or Alive: The unofficial main protagonist of the series. Fortunately for us, it is great seeing her in action, what with all that beauty and all.

Lighting – Final Fantasy: Though very new to the series, she mustn’t get left behind. She is an extremely attractive women; anyone would consider a prize.

Rikku – Final Fantasy: There’s been a lot of debate on this one, but I added her seeing how I thought she was probably the cutest female in the Final Fantasy series.

Aisha – Rumble Roses: Not much to say other that she can strangle you with her legs, this super hot girl can.

Faith – Mirror’s Edge: EA’s recent release of Mirrors Edge caught my eye for one reason. This reason was because of Faith herself. She is beautiful. If it didn’t have her, I probably wouldn’t have given the game a chance.

Sindel – Mortal Kombat: When I began playing MK series, I always pictured Sindel an old women, but as the series grew, they just perfected her into something great.

Nariko – Heavenly Sword: Nariko is probably the PS3’s best looking female out there. Super sexy and is dangerous with those Heavenly Swords, don’t you think about double crossing her once.

Rubi – WET: I can’t tell what kind of women she’s going to be, all I can say is she’s a badass and she’s fine.

Album Review of the week- Donuts

J Dilla Donut Review

This is a special review and only will consist of beats and summary section

Beats

Let us start from the beginning. You are treated to a very nice and short intro. Then the pace starts to pick up. All the tracks basically start off basic and in the first 20 seconds it builds itself until it finally becomes a complicated beat. That is what is so nice. You can literally figure out how he made most of the tracks.

All the beats have so much soul in them that you can figure out what Dilla was going for in each track. He gives each track its own identity. An example of that is “Stop!” You can feel all the soul and the pain in that one. I can listen to that track all day. Such a smooth laid back beat, with some vocals on it.

Most of the tracks are about love or have some sort of love theme, which can be a plus or minus for most, but you come to expect that when the entire album is basically an homage to soul music

I guarantee if you just close your eyes and listen to some of these tracks, your head will start bobbing all by itself. The beats are so amazing that it requires no other shit over it. There are albums where they use some of these instrumentals and have artists spit something over them, but they tend to tarnish the beat.

Everyone will have there own favorites. My personal favorites are “Don’t Cry” and “Two Can Win.” Don’t Cry is one of my favorites because the first 35 seconds was the original track and slowly it turns into a beat. He uses vocals on the track and literally turns that into the beat. Using voices to make such a beat is just amazing. “Two Can Win” is amazing because it will lift your spirit up. Nobody can hate that track. It might get annoying at first, but when you get to the chorus part it is just amazing.

The only bad thing is that the album caters to those who love soulful beats. If your one of those guys who like hardcore hip hop or gangsta rap, you will not enjoy it as much as those who love beats that are not just always drums and other simple stuff. At the same time, even if you like hardcore hip hop or gangsta rap, you will still find something to appreciate in this album. Even though I said it caters to those who love soulful beats, it still is a versatile album. Anyone can listen to it and enjoy it.

Summary
This is in my opinion the greatest album J Dilla ever made. There is nothing out there that can mimic this. These tracks have to just be experienced and listened to in order to understand what I am saying. I am giving this album a 10 out of 10. Why a perfect score? I am talking about plain beats, nothing else. All the beats are amazing, and everyone will have there own personal favorites. If you haven’t listened to this album, go listen to it.

This is just someones favorite tracks of the album, again everyone’s views will be different

Hip Hop for Respect- One Four Love pt. 1
(Kool G. Rap, Rah Digga, Sporty Thievz, Mos Def, Shabaam Sahdeeq, Common, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, and Kelvin Mercer of De La Soul)

RIP Marlon Brando of Sporty Thievz (was hit by a car while saving a little girl and died of internal bleeding)

This is just raw hip hop. I mean RAW. The beat is raw, everything is raw. Simply put, an amazing track.
