The Top 5 Games That Deserve Remakes

Posted by PAYBACK-IRONMAN | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Friday 20 February 2009 11:44 pm

With all the potential of the current generation systems it just makes you wonder how would previous generation games look and play if they were remade on the current gen consoles? Well heres a top 5 list of games that I believe need to be remade or deserve there long awaited sequels.

5. Comix Zone: This was a game that litterally let you play as a comic book character. Players would take on the role of Sketch Turner who while working on his newest comic book, gets transported into his own creation and he must go from page to page fighting aliens that have invaded New York. With its unique story and very satisfying beat-em up action a 3-D remake would really make this stand out on the market and it could breathe new life into the forgotten beat-em genre.

4. Marvel vs. Capcom: Yes I know Street Fighter 4 just came out and that its an awesome game but isn’t this the game that the fans really want? With its all star cast of Capcom and Marvel characters this was a game that really dominated the fighting genre many years ago and with Street Fighter 4 doing extremely well Capcom should consider bringing this beloved series back to keep there already strong momentum going.

3. Sonic & Knuckles: Lets be honest this was the last Sonic game that was truly awesome. The Sonic franchise in general has been putting out poor titles over the past few years and some believe the once classic franchise is dead. Well the best way to bring back the blue hedghog would be to remake the game that introduced the fan favorite Knuckles and add the classic side scrolling gameplay that fans know and love and you have the rebirth of a classic franchise.

2. Road Rash: If theres one thing that EA needs to do its to bring this classic motorcycle racing game back. I mean this was one of the first racing games I ever played and its definitley one of the best racing games ever made. The over the top racing and being able to hit other racers off their bikes with chains and bats instantly made this a hit. So why hasn’t this been remade? Ask EA.

1. Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic: This was the reason I bought an XBOX. No RPG I’ve played to this day has been so immersive as this game. Everything from the memorable characters, quests and story made this game one of the best North American RPG’s ever and the fact that you can choose between the light and dark side of force gave players so many choices and options of how they wanted to play the game. There was a KOTOR 2 which even though was good, it left alot of unanswered questions. So maybe Bioware can take that beautiful Mass Effect graphics engine and make the full fledged sequel that everyone has been waiting for ever since we finished the first KOTOR.

So what games would you guys like to see remade? Please leave your comments.

BEYONCE is Highly Frugal

Posted by hiphopgamer | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Friday 20 February 2009 11:01 pm

According to bossip.com, R&B superstar BEYONCE has yet to spend any of her multi-million dollar fortune – insisting she hasn’t bought any luxury items with her cash.

The singer was recently named the richest star under 30 years old – with an estimated $80 million in the bank.

But Beyonce – whose wedding ring is worth $5 million – is adamant that she has invested all of her money wisely, and won’t be spending any of her earnings on fast cars or expensive jewelery.

She says, “Honestly, I’m very frugal. I haven’t bought a car since I was 16 or any diamonds since I was 17. I have a lot of property. I’ve invested my money and I don’t have to make any more, thank God, because I’m set. “I’m now able really to be free and just do thngs that make me happy. It’s an effort to stay grounded.”

Beyonce is very smart for this one….saving is the Key….if you dont need it, why buy it?

Why no Flower Demo?

Posted by bakerboy | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Friday 20 February 2009 2:44 pm

Ok, so you have a new, interesting product that you want to get everyone excited about.  How does one go about spreading the news? Do you let your potential customers see it, touch it, or demo it perhaps? Or, do you simply keep the product to yourself and suddenly release it although the general public has no clue what your product is about? My guess would be the former rather than the latter. If you guys haven’t guessed it already, the company is Sony and the product is Flower.

There was once a time when gamers had to solely depend on the words of editors from their favorite magazines for the latest info on an upcoming game. This time has passed. In this new internet age, gamers are no longer limited to the opinions of those who may not even enjoy the same genre that you find most entertaining. Therefore, what better way is there to get the consumers to jump on board other than releasing a timely demo. Now before you guys say, “But hey, Sony releases demos on their PSN titles all the time”. Although this may be true, I cannot think of a better game for a demo than Flower. I mean, does anybody(besides the hardcore gamer) even know what this game is about? Even the developer(ThatGameCompany) couldn’t articulate the purpose of the game. So why no demo? My guess would have to be that the game is so short that by releasing a demo you’d practically be giving the game away for free. Or maybe the game is not that good, therefore the only way anyone would drop their hard earned $10 on it were if they hadn’t tried it already. Whatever the case may be, whenever you release a product and the purpose of said product is not immediately noticeable, it might be in the company’s best interest to let the consumer try before they buy.

This is simply my view on a game that could be more successful if there was a sample for “Joe the Gamer” to try. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve ordered food from that Chinese place in the mall after trying one of those bite size chicken teriyaki samples. After tasting that sweet, juicy nuglet, one would be hard pressed to not ask for more. What do guys think? Let us know.

God of War III, MAG and Heavy Rain for 2009? I Hope God Of War 3 Really Gets Pushed Up I Need That Game

Posted by hiphopgamer | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Friday 20 February 2009 12:48 pm

SCEA this morning sent out a little media alert concerning their upcoming PlayStation 3 lineup. And hey, there may be an interesting little tidbit in there for everyone looking forward to God of War III, Zipper Interactive’s MAG and Heavy Rain.
Based on the wording of the release, it appears that those 3 games are scheduled for release in 2009.

Kicking off the new line up, Killzone 2 is set to launch on February 27, 2009 and promises to be the industry’s first major gaming hit for 2009 as well as a key driver for PlayStation 3 (PS3) hardware sales. Killzone 2 is the third installment of the popular PlayStation-exclusive franchise, and the first of the series to appear on PS3. Delivering a truly immersive experience only possible through PS3’s Blu-ray gaming potential, Killzone 2 is already generating wide-spread critical acclaim, earning an impressive Metacritic score of 92.
The game ushers in an unprecedented year of titles to hit the PlayStation platform throughout the year including the blockbuster exclusives Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, inFamous, MAG, Heavy Rain, God of War III and MLB 09 The Show.

So fingers crossed that we get to finish Kratos’ adventure before 2010.

The Forgotten Sony Exclusive.

Posted by bakerboy | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Friday 20 February 2009 11:51 am

With all the hype surrounding the upcoming release of Killzone 2, some games are bound to be overlooked. Although Killzone 2 may be enough to anchor Sony’s lineup for the first quarter, it doesn’t hurt to inform the public about its next exclusive title right around the corner. What game is this you ask? The title that I speak of is without a doubt MLB The Show 09. Unlike its basketball counterpart, (Sony’s exclusive NBA franchise) The Show continues to outperform its competition year after year.

MLB 08 was really a coming out party for this exclusive title developed by San Diego Studios. It wowed baseball fans with its lifelike graphics and buttery smooth 60fps gameplay. Everything from the pitching animations to the batting stances were the best that baseball fans had seen since MVP baseball 05. This was coupled with the RTTS(Road to the Show) mode that added almost infinite replayability by allowing the user to create his/her own player and work their way from the minor leagues to the pros. This year will be no different. So why is this game getting no attention? Most people will assume that it is because of Killzone 2. But this is not the case. Although Killzone 2 is releasing a mere week before The Show, it doesn’t fully explain the lack of hype for this game. Instead, I believe that it is the lack of interest in a baseball title; even one of this calibur. In my opinion, this game should be referenced in every Sony exclusive list that is made for 2009. But unfortunately, everyone doesn’t share my opinion. Therefore its continually left out, mainly because its a sports title.

Hopefully this next addition to the MLB franchise will continue to outdo itself once again. It has undoubtedly taken the crown of “Best Baseball Game on the Planet” from the 2k series and it is a Sony exclusive. Hopefully you guys will take heed to my advice and go pick up this amazing game on March 3rd.
