Can HAWX Kill Ace Combat?
For a long time Ace Combat has been the reigning champion of flight combat simulators. While there has been games released that were pitted against it such as Warhawk, they paled in comparison. I’m not saying Warhawk was a bad game, just nothing comparable against Ace Combat. Ace Combat though, seems to have found worthy competition with Tom Clancy’s HAWX.
HAWX’s main attraction is its game play mechanics. The game caters to both new comers to the flight simulation world and to the experienced players. The game seems easy enough for new gamers to jump into the series of flight simulators, for example: with the push of a button, you can dodge a missile being aimed at you, instead of doing a hard to learn move with the analog hubs. This helps you to get better at the game since you don’t have to constantly be worrying about dodging shots. HAWX’s graphics takes the game to a whole new level. The game is amazingly detailed and it looks real driving the planes over all the cities. Aside from the amazing visuals, the game packs a good story with it and for an airplane game this automatically spells out success.
Ace combat has been the running champion in the flight simulator area of the industry for some time now. We all know that competition makes for better games so what will Ace Combat create to compete with HAWX. Tom Clancy is giving gamers an alternative to games such as Metal Gear & Syphon Filter with games like Ghost Recon & Rainbow Six. Now Clancy is giving gamers an alternative for flight combat simulators. Everyone should look forward to this possible revolutionary flight simulator coming next month (March) if you’ve ever even thought about playing a flight combat game.
