Sony is a weird company. The PlayStation 3 home gaming console, the spear tip of its gaming platforms, is losing sales when compared with the same period last year and there’s no clear communication strategy from the company on which are the aspects that should attract a gamer to its product.
Its chief rival, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, has been on an upward trend from the moment it saw a price cut, in September 2008, while also enjoying a surge as the New Xbox Experience was rolled out in November. Still, the company refuses to say whether it plans to cut the price of the PlayStation 3 or even to acknowledge that it needs one.
Videogame industry analysts are saying that the PlayStation 3 badly needs to see its price go down by around 50 dollars. Mike Hickey, who works for Janco Partners, stated that “If Sony does not cut the price of their console, we expect the continuation of languishing PS3 hardware sales and the potential for publishers to accelerate their reallocation of resources away from the PS3 console. We believe the market is expecting a PS3 price cut in April or by June at the latest.”
The analyst believes that the price cut should be no less than 100 dollars, making the 80 GB hard drive console sell for 300 dollars. Such a move could “effectively restart unit velocity at retail.” The announcement from Sony is said to be made before the middle of March.
According to Hickey, more and more rumors point to Sony preparing a PlayStation 3 version not featuring a Blu-ray. Still, logic dictates that such a move would actually harm Sony, as all the games published for the PlayStation 3 come on Blu-ray disk and the price of the unit is not such a big part of the cost of the PS3.
We’ll bring you news on the price cut when and if Sony announces it.

It may very well just come as a coincidence, but as I was gearing up for Killzone 2, I was enjoying the demo and decided to get on that one glitch where you get on the carrier and jump on the ledge next to the turret. I don’t need to show that video since I’m sure everyone has seen it by now. The thing is, if you time your jump at a more specific time, you can jump on the roof and from the roof down to the section right after the your mate has to unlock the door in the warehouse.
Aside from that, I did notice a cool little aspect but only happens when you glitch in a certain spot. Check out video 5 at 00:12 and look the effect that the gun makes. Cool huh? Anyhow, enjoy. Oh P.S. I hope that these videos smash the argument of whether or not the first video of the glitch where he gets on the turret was a glitch or not. It clearly is since you can jump down under the map so easily. I hope this has already been patched; if not, f**k it right? It doesn’t downgrade the game in any way. Now for real, enjoy.
Some videos will show random deaths as in just collapsing (Dehydration? Heat Exhaustion? Heart Attack?); anyhow, others just show me falling to a grimacing death.
Watch this one till the end; at about 3:25 I will collapse.
Near the Roof
On Top of the Beams
From Turret to Underground
Spawn in Glitch
Roaming underground
So it looks to me like there is another surprise for glitchers (LOL I know, not a real word) waiting to get into this game.Just another feature Guerrilla Games has integrated to make this game great!

Atari comes out swinging with the launch of the official website for Ready 2 Rumble: Revolution at www.ready2rumblerevolution.com. Visitors to the site will be introduced to the larger-than-life personalities from the game through videos featuring voiceover by Alan Ford, the British actor who portrayed the tough-talking ‘Brick Top’ in the acclaimed 2000 movie Snatch. Ready 2 Rumble: Revolution features a roster of 18 wildly caricatured cartoony would-be boxers from the worlds of sports, music and movies. The introductory videos narrated by Alan Ford give a lively blow by blow account of the fighting histories and gruelling training regimes of these super-sized egos.

25 February 2009 Volatile Games today announced its development of Dead to Rights®: Retribution, a reimagining of the gritty crime drama franchise for the Xbox 360® and PlayStation®3, published by NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc.
Set in the neo-noir, morally corrupt and nightmarish world of Grant City, Dead to Rights®: Retribution thrusts the player into the epicentre of an intensely dark, dangerous and tragic narrative as vice-cop Jack Slate. Along with vicious sidekick Shadow, Jack must fight to expose the shadowy underworld figures exerting their evil grip over the crumbling metropolis.
Introducing an innovative new hybrid combat system, Volatile Games has unified third person shooting, hand-to-hand fighting and AI dog, Shadow, into a visceral, intense and seamless gameplay experience. Experience Jack’s full combat potential: use your sidearm to pick off the enemy at a distance, take cover and blind fire, take human shields, steal enemies’ weapons with special disarms or unleash his deadly takedowns.
All the while, the immersive gameplay and storyline combined with beautifully imagined backdrops and scenarios pulls the player into Jack’s world as he investigates the threats facing the once great city. Jack will encounter a variety of ruthless gangs, each with their own fighting style, and all looking to destroy him and Grant City.
Jack’s special bond with his canine companion, Shadow, makes the duo a formidable team in combat situations. Players will take control of both Jack and Shadow at various points throughout the game to cover potential threats from the enemy.
“Dead to Rights®: Retribution is a fresh look at the franchise, with a ground-up design for the game mechanics, world, characters and narrative,” explains Imre Jele, Project Director for Volatile Games. “We’ve reimagined Dead to Rights for both fans of the franchise and a brand new audience alike.”
“We’re excited to be working with Volatile Games on Dead to Rights®: Retribution,” says Todd Thorson, Director of Marketing and PR for NAMCO BANDAI Games America. “As one of our key franchises we’re confident that Volatiles Games’ combination of innovative design and powerful technology will make a great game that fans and newcomers alike will love.”

A lawsuit filed against Aftermath/Interscope Records by Eminem’s former production partners over the rapper’s digital royalty rates will go to trial today (February 24).
F.B.T Productions and Em2M, who originally signed Eminem to their Web Entertainment label in 1995, claim they have received an unfair split of royalties from Eminem’s internet downloads and ringtone sales under an agreement signed with Aftermath/Interscope in 1998.
F.B.T and Em2m furnished Eminem’s services to Aftermath/Interscope in the 1998 agreement and as part of the deal, they were to receive accounting statements and royalties in connection with certain Eminem recordings.
F.B.T and Em2m claim Aftermath/Interscope have withheld over a million dollars in royalties. They believe they should be receiving 50 percent of net receipts from downloads and ringtones rather than the lesser artist royalty rate based on sales.
According to The Wrap, Interscope CEO Jimmy Iovine and Apple Computers CEO Steve Jobs will testify during the trial.
Eminem, who is not a party in the suit, is expected not to appear during the trial.
The outcome of the case will prove to be important because it could determine in the future how much artists are entitled to when their music is sold by labels to third parties like Apple’s iTunes and phone companies.
“This is very significant case,” Jay Cooper, an entertainment lawyer, told The Wrap. “A lot of people are going to be watching very closely because there’s a lot of money involved.”
