P Diddy Says “DJ’s Killed Hip Hop” Yet Mr. Cee A DJ Introduced Him To Biggie What A Dumb Ass Comment

SEAN COMBS has blamed a current lack of creativity in the global DJ scene for stifling hip-hop music. The rap mogul is adamant that the genre is in the midst of a “recession” because there are so few talented beatmakers around to help create interesting tracks.
He tells MTV.com, “People have figured out the formula when they make records for radio, and DJs ain’t DJs no more. DJs don’t break records no more. DJs don’t play album cuts. DJs play what is going to move the crowd. DJs, they don’t expose you to the newness. That was the DJs’ thing. Hip-hop is in a recession also.”
But Combs is convinced that there is enough fresh, young talent in the music industry at the moment to make sure that rap artists will continue to sell records.
He adds, “(Hip-hop) is not dead, it’s definitely way better than where it was at, as far as with ‘Ye, T.I. and with Jeezy. It’s so much great stuff out there, the responsibility has to come with the DJs.”

Hi everyone
The name’s John, though most people call me ‘Freaky’.
I’m in my “teens” and kinda lost in the world at the moment…however, I’ve found the hippie “culture” and discovered that it fits me very well…I’m not trying to fit into it, it just kind of fitted onto me.
I have lots of questions, which hopefully some of the older and wiser people on this board will be able to help answer.
Here’s to hoping this board will be able to help me discover more of myself and fuel my beliefs.
Take care, John from Payday Loans!
Nothing is dying. Rap changes, Audiences get older and then hate on the new generations music. That’s all it is. The stuff the uptight people are complaing about is the music just made for our teens to dance and have fun. You whine about G music and then when they simple fun stuff u complain again. I don’t mind a song with a message but I don’t want to hear one in every song . Most of that crap is lame and boring. I could careless about underground music.
oh yeah looks like diddys not the only one who makes stupid comments
50 makes several stupid comments and you dont call him out on that
I coined that Hiphop was in a recession a couple of years ago. Glad Diddy agrees. Although this may look like he’s dissing DJ’s in general, he’s not. He’s talking about the DJ’s at clubs playing wack shit. He’s also forgot to mention that producers like Lil’ Jon are constantly making wack beats and have paved the way for more wack shit. People love wack shit and that’s what sells. Might I also add that Mase was wack and he was a protege of Puffy.
he is one of the rasions why hip hop is dying
His non-rapping, non-talented self led the way to other non-rapping mainstream lyric and beat stealing emcees. Groups like the roots and Dead Prez are the future of Hip-Hop… where groups produce their own music instead of “jacking” beats. It was fine for the early phase of Hip-Hop, but once people started making a second and third album, there was no excuse for people hiring musicians and making their own sound instead of ripping off people. Puffy went even further by ripping off actual lyrics from the songs he jacked.
If it wasn’t for Biggie, Puffy would be another Rob Base.
last time i checked, hip hop was doing its thing in the underground.
Sometimes i think rappers only say things to get attention.
