Number 5.
Lair
Once hyped to be the first game to show off the “powah of teh cell”, Lair’s release was an utter catastrophe. Factor 5’s insistence on forcing the player to use Sony’s six axis tilt functionality was the main reason for most complaints. This was coupled with the incredible hype attached to a game that already didn’t have mass appeal just based on its genre. There just wasn’t a market for a dragon game in the day in age where first person shooters dominate the charts.

Number 4.
Socom Confrontation
I dare anyone to name another title that shipped with more problems than this title. From the missing features on the back of the box, to the complete inability to connect with friends online, this game had it all. It has to make one question the reason for a beta. How can you beta test a game 2 weeks before the release anyway? Your guess is as good as mine. I bet these guys wish they could have a do-over.

Haze
As soon as this title was revealed to be a PS3 exclusive, the hype started to build. Developed by Free Radical, the great minds behind the incredible Timesplitters franchise, gamers assumed that the title was in good hands. Boy were they wrong. Although it is not clear as to what exactly happened to this title during its development, we do know that when it finally arrived it was nothing more than a mediocre shooter. Maybe it was nothing more than a mediocre shooter all along, with PS3 owners hyping it to be the second coming due to the lack of impressive titles at the time.

I’ve played the best games ever made. i said “both” as in xbox 360, and ps3. only because these are the systems everyones talking about. I’ve gotten serious in damn near every PC game also. If you must know, i actually agree with bakerboy’s list, with the exception of home since it isnt a game, although im not a fan of home, including it on the list wasn’t needed when there are plenty of other flops in terms of sales this gen.
To anyone claiming GTA4, Gears2, or even Halo 3 ( a game i don’t like ) as a flop should look up the word flop. You might hate those games, but flop shouldn’t be associated with them.
First off how can you include Home as a flop when it has produced north of million dollars while in BETA! I’m not a big Home user i get on once in a while but to say it was a flop i think is a stretch considering that it stays populated almost anytime I’VE been on it.
I would heavily consider Devil May Cry 4 to pop in that list i mean it really was OKAY. It had it’s moments and it was far from the best in the franchise. Constant backtracking, poor level design, they script sucked and seriously NERO!

I understand where your coming from with Too Human, Haze and Lair because just the pure HYPE for those games prior to the launch and the sub par quality game suffice their spots. Socom is debatable at best and like i said Home is always populated, generates money and is in beta. I’d replace those two with any two off of the list i have…

If you want to compare HOME to the Wii’s and 360 Avatars….the 360 has the weakest avatar cause there isn’t a damn thing you could do with it.

I’d even go as far as putting Too Human in first place because it has been announced 10 years ago, it got rid of the unreal engine even though its engine is based on it, and it’s supposed to be a trilogy. Denis Dyack made a hate-it-or-love-it game, and with that, there’s 50% change that many people will hate it.
I really wanted it to be good, but it felt like a mediocre AAA game that was trying too hard.
And BTW bakerbitch home isn’t a game and it made sony a million bucks in 1 week how the hell is that a flop for a free service dumbass. Get the 360 out your ass before you type another article.
