Crytek Announces, “We’re in a League of Our Own.”

Introduction
Ever since the release of Crysis in 2007, Crytek has been known for the amount of raw power they put into their games. When it comes to graphics, lighting, and physics, Crytek has been the champ since 2007. Though over the past few months with releases like Gears of War 2 and Killzone 2, Crytek has had some serious competition for the crown of “power” champs. Though with the reveal of the CryEngine 3 for consoles, Crytek wants to prove to the gaming world that they are still the champs when it comes to the “power” they put into games.
“We’re in a league of our own.”
In a interview with our very own HipHopGamer at last weeks GDC, a member of Crytek’s development team announced to the gaming world, “We’re in a league of our own” when comparing Crysis to other first-person shooters on the market.
The natural progression from PC’s to consoles was always planned
With the CryEngine 3 coming out for consoles, one of the reasons that Crytek is doing this is to cement their legacy in the gaming world. Currently, they are one of the most beloved studio’s to PC gamers, but haven’t gotten the respect they believe is due from non-PC gamers. With CryEngine 3, the guys at Crytek hope to change the way we see and play console games. These guys have always been very competitive when it comes to putting out a great product, and now that they have their place in PC history they want to cement their legacy with console gaming.
While there is no official word on what specific title is in the works…
HipHopGamer got some small hints from the staff at Crytek that they may be working on Crysis for the consoles and maybe something from a different genre other than first-person shooter. Either way it’s great for console games to expierence the power and detail that Crytek puts into all their games on the consoles. Crytek hopes to bring a game of Crysis quality visuals to the consoles, and this would be great for gamers everywhere. If they are able to do this then Crytek will do something gamers once thought was impossible on consoles: Bring Crysis quality visuals to the PS3 and Xbox 360. Can’t wait to see what the guys at Crytek have up their sleeve. All we do know is that when Crytek announces they are in a league of their own, you listen.

Great interviews, CryEngine would be great in an adventure game.
I like the interviews. Love your energy and enthusiasm. Keep it up. I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on some Crysis.
