New Square Enix Game Teased

Posted by MattG | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Thursday 30 April 2009 10:53 pm

It’s 2009, and there still hasn’t been a Final Fantasy game this generation, but that doesn’t stop Square Enix from pumping out a bunch of other games! This new “mysetery” game popped up on Square Enix’s website and features the picture seen above, a quote from John F. Kennedy, and some smoke effects in the picture.

Could this be the new game that was teased in the last issue of OPM, Official Playstation Magazine? Who knows, but the artwork looks cool and hopefully this turns out to be a good game. Expect more info in probably the next couple of weeks.

2011 The Next Xbox Will Shine. Is Ubisoft Leading The Way?

Posted by hiphopgamer | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Thursday 30 April 2009 8:53 pm

Microsoft has helped establish a force in the gaming industry with the Xbox 360 this generation. The 360 has helped take the Xbox name to another level, and hopes to do the same with their next console. The question is, when is this next console coming? Well, if certain sources are correct then you should expect the next Xbox by 2011.

A source has already revealed to the HipHopGamer site that certain developers including Ubisoft have already received some of the new technology that will be used for the next console. This along with the recent quotes from Don Mattrick of Microsoft, might lead some to believe that the next Xbox may get a reveal earlier than expected.

Microsoft is doing so well this generation because of their early head start. Most likely they would like to be the first console out the gate once again, and this means that they are already starting their development for their next console.

Along with Ubisoft currently having a development kit for the next Xbox, a source has also revealed that the next Ghost Recon will be a launch title for the new console. This may all mean that we will get a tease of the new console at this E3.

With Microsoft having a quiet year thus far, they need a bang to steal thunder away from Sony, and this will do just that. Don Mattrick was quoted as saying, “we are gearing up for a big presence at E3 which will completely transform how people think about home entertainment.” This could be a reveal of their new hardware. Their hardware that will change the way people think of home entertainment. Will it be the highlight of their show? Most likely no, but maybe expect a quick tease to get people excited.

Microsoft and the Xbox name is here to stay, and knowing them they will bring some amazing innovation in their next console. The question is when, and all signs point towards the near future.

Wolverine Vs Kratos Mark Rein Confirms X-men Origins is as good as God Of War

Today as the last sessions of the Triangle Game Conference came to a close, during a conversation I was having with Mark Rein Vice President of Epic Games about X-Men Origins: Wolverine he stated
” I’ve played the game at GDC, reps from Activision let me play it privately and it is God Of War Quality”. As the conversation went on he continued stating that “All the moves look difficult to input but are easily preformed, I especially enjoyed attacking the helicopters!”. Apparently the impression the game left on him was extremely positive, because after the explanation of his time with the near final build, He ended his description stating “It is truly the best movie game created to date, the developer’s were right to say so”.

From his enthusiasm about it I know he was being sincere and really enjoyed the game play of the IP. I couldn’t be happier, I am a huge wolverine fan and have been watching this game very closely. I will be picking this one up day one hoping that I can have just as good of a time with it.

Great news for those of you who watch Hulu on your PS3s! In three to five years the PS3 will dominate….according to David Reeves

headaches

I can see a mindless fanboy saying something like this, but an executive from Sony? I’m appalled. Sony’s Europe president David Reeves has stated that the PlayStation 3 still has a long way to go before it can overtake Microsoft’s Xbox 360 on the market. He even went on to predict that it will take Sony’s PS3 three more years or longer before it reclaims its thrown as market leader. David Reeves is retiring from Sony tomorrow May 1, 2009 and being replace by Andrew House. Mr. Reeves “joined Sony in 1995 managing the regional offices of SCEE Germany, Austria and Switzerland, before moving to the UK. In 2003 he was appointed president and COO, and CEO of Sony Europe two years later”. Sony is confident that the PS3 has a ten year plan, but these statements “you just wait and see” are getting old fast. I’m going to wait to E3, to see if his statement holds any ground. Street Fighter IV (PC) will feature 3 image filters

Posted by Agent-X | PC, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Thursday 30 April 2009 3:51 am

It appears that the PC version of Street Fighter IV will receive 3 extra image filters. These 3 extra filters are Watercolour, Brushstroke and Poster. If you check out the images you can see the difference between the basic filter and the three new ones.

Watercolour seems to diffuse the colour a bit, adding a slight haze to everything.

Poster makes the colours a bit more vibrant and darkens the outlines of the art.

Brushstroke appears to be the most extreme, adding heavy outlines to the characters and almost saturating some of the colours.

Because the filters were created with the magic of shaders, Capcom says they won’t be coming to the console versions, not even as DLC.

triangleconf

The first day of the 1st annual triangle game conference is done and I have to say it is looking like a success. The conference had sessions on every thing from Starting your own company in this economy, to a breakdown of the cinematography in Gears 2. Nothing I have seen has been rework of GDC Slides; everything has been made fresh for this conference. I will be giving my overall impressions after the show. Look forward to a interview with a certain Epic games Employee, as well as coverage of fallen earth a new IP from Icarus games.

Pixeljunk 1-4 Gameplay

Posted by Killa-Indian | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, Sony | Wednesday 29 April 2009 2:50 pm

The next Pixeljunk Game. There is no real name for it, so it is under the name 1-4. The fans help to decide what they will call this game. Regardless, this game so far seems to be Q-Games best work. The art style is amazing, and the gameplay looks addicting. Saving people, shooting rocks, trying to put out the lava while staying cool. That is only based on a few levels. Who knows what else will be offered. This is now officially on the list of must buys for me. So far Q-Games hasn’t disappointed and I am sure this game won’t be a fail.
