Could Handhelds Take Over Console Systems?

Posted by Agent-X | Microsoft, Nintendo, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, Sony | Sunday 12 April 2009 11:12 pm

Have you ever thought that Handhelds could someday take over the console generation? I mean think about it a lot of consoles have been released over the past few decades starting from the Magnavox Odyssey all the way to the 360 and the PS3.

The graphics have been generating for years and look now, the graphics have been improved a lot, the types of engines that are being use for the games, also the types of specification that are build inside consoles which is incredibly remarkable.

But have you ever thought that Handhelds systems such as the PSP, DS, Iphone many more could take over. I think it could happen I mean the game industry could make a lot of profit out of this.

One day people would be tired of staying home all day stuck in one room and playing there consoles on a big Plasma or LCD. So it will be a successful idea to make a handheld system which could one day reach to the top where it could be using the same specs that the 360 and the PS3 are using.

And another thing is that people would be walking around with their handhelds and playing online with their friends or random people around the world, now that’s some great stuff there.

But could this ever happen, Will the handhelds ever take over, I guess it could happen in the third generation.

What Will Madden 2010 Bring To The Table?

Posted by joey3d | Microsoft, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, Sony | Sunday 12 April 2009 7:09 pm

madden

After the release of NaturalMotion’s Backbreaker trailer, many people have been calling it “The Madden Killer”. Which now brings me to ask, What is EA Sports going to do about it?

Backbreaker (In case you didn’t know, can be found here backbreakergame.com) is developed by NaturalMotion. The game has only been announced on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. It hasn‘t been announced on Nintendo Wii but maybe that will change in the near future. Until then, the Nintendo Wii can still enjoy Madden.

Using the amazing physics of the Euphoria engine, NaturalMotion demonstrates that no two tackles will ever be the same. The engine also shows that players don’t glitch in between people, and the only way to get the ball is to actually grab it with the player’s hands. the Euphoria engine can also be found on Grand Theft Auto 4, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

Madden lovers have been awaiting news on Backbreaker ever since 2007 but NaturalMotion have been keeping updates quiet.

What do you guys think? Is EA Sports planning to compete with Backbreaker? Will Madden 2010 be a game not to be messed with? Leave your comments.

Is the gaming world talking about the wrong things?

Posted by MattG | Features, Microsoft, Nintendo, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, Sony | Sunday 12 April 2009 6:46 pm

collection 4/23/2006 Pictures, Images and Photos

It’s 2009, and every console on the market has been out for at least two years. All three consoles have great libraries of games, and a plethora of great features. It would seem that the gaming world would be content with the current hardware state in the industry, but it seems that in this generation more than ever the console comparisons continue to wage on.

With games like Uncharted 2, Bioshock 2, Modern Warfare 2, etc coming out this year there is a large variety of great games to talk about, but instead gamers and journalists continue to argue over the consoles and the console war. In most generations, the talk over which console is better than the other calms down in the middle of a generation due to a changed focus on the games themselves. This generation is now in full swing, and with developers knowing the hardware better than ever, games will continue to improve quality wise, so lets talk about them!

This year has already seen great titles like Killzone 2, Street Fighter 4, Resident Evil 5, etc. and the other great titles will only continue to come out in 2009. Hopefully instead of wondering which consoles lineup is better or which hardware is better, gamers as whole will instead focus their attention to the thing that matters the most, and that’s the games.

I think the reason for the constant hardware talk is because this generation is closer than ever. With three competitive consoles with extremely opinionated fanbases there is going to be a lot of bickering between the three. They want to support their purchase choice more than ever due to a faltering economy, and the ability to maybe not own multiple console. Not only this but the rise of Nintendo and the casual gamer has brought an all new opinion, and argument into the hardware war.

I think now that a majority of people own at least one current gen console that we need to move away from NPD numbers, and console comparisons and instead focus on the software. Instead of doing side by side comparisons when it comes to graphics, instead we should be comparing games to see if developers are actually deliver AAA titles. For the most part all three consoles and PC’s are very similar, and are all great so instead of arguing over small differences or who will win. Instead gamers should talk about if the games they are playing are fun.

Darksiders: Wrath of War to wreak havoc at this year E3? I sure hope so.

darksiders-9

Introduction:

The recession is taking a toll on the economy and game publishers are definitely feeling the pressure from it. Hopefully we all can overcome this catastrophe, especially THQ. For all my fellow gamers out there, I would like to remind all of you of this little game called Darksiders: Wrath of War. This game looks incredible and I’ve been waiting for this game ever since they announced it last year at E3.

What the hell is Darksiders: WOW?

According to my research the game is highly influenced from the Book of Revelations with the player taking the role of War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

What is the Book of Revelations about?

For all the religous people out there, please correct me if I’m wrong about explaining the Revelation. The Book of Revelation is about the Christian leader John, who was exile to prison at the “Roman Island Patamos” (wherever that is) for refusing to worship the Roman emperor “Domitian” who thought of himself as God. John was provided a vision from the big Guy himself, showing him the end of days, also known as the Armageddon.

Who is War?

Anyone who’s familar with the Four Horsemen, should be familiar with War. He represents “blood spilled on the battlefield”. Just like in the great Book he carries a great sword for chopping some demons up.

Who’s developing Darksiders:  WOW?

Vigil Games is going to take a swing at making War into “bad-ass mutha watch your mouth”. Hopefully they can pull it off.

Contents

Darkersiders is shaping up to be a pure combat action game with weapons such as: giant swords, spears, miniguns etc. War also regains his powers throughout the game, because he lost all of them at the beginning, due to a conspircay between heaven and hell. He also gets to ride his trusty bad ass horse from hell called Ruin.

From the millions of fans familiar with the Legend of Zelda series, you all should be informed that the powers and horse which War must regain, play an important role in the game. Such as: giving him access to areas that were closed off. War will also have a war gauge that will fill up after performing a series of combos on some demon scum, that will eventually give him access to new powers.

According to Vigil  Games, the action will take place in the world where the city has been devasted by the aftermath of Armageddon, where your character can roam freely and wreak even more havoc. The underground levels will involve more puzzle solving, to add a little bit more of platforming to it.

Final comments

This is one of the games I’m looking forward too this year, it looks like it’s going to have crazy action it and that’s right up my alley. I would like to know what games you guys would like see at E3 this year. Please leave your comments. Check out the lastest trailer from IGN below.

It has been brought to our attention that a certain site has decided to take 90 minutes of their lives in a desperate smear attempt on our site. We find it extremely sad and pitiful that in order to produce interest for their podcast, they had to so far as to put our site’s name in the headline. So, your message to the listener is that your podcast is so boring and uninformative that you must depend on a separate, more intriguing site, in order to get listeners. It is also very unfortunate that this site had to go and mention our staff. Most of which are completely unaware of this site’s existence and have not once displayed any form of negativity towards your site.

We would just like our readers to know that we are aware of the distasteful things that are being said and that we will continue to bring you (our readers) interesting news and content that you care about on a consistent basis. Thanks for your support.
