Will Dante’s Inferno even be able to compete with God of War?
Dante’s Inferno is shaping out to be another interesting title coming from EA’s Visceral, but the question is: Is it in the same league as the infamous God of War series? Game play wise, yes. Dante’s Inferno is heavily influence by the GOW series for having the same exact control scheme. But, the story in Dante’s Inferno is going to set it apart from any other game title out there on the market.
Dissecting Dante’s Inferno and God of War:
The God of War series is a well established brand in the gaming market and that’s pretty amazing seeing how when it was introduce it was brand new IP. It was very well received by critics and fans alike and received many awards from game sites. Dante’s Inferno is one of the most famous piece of literature in the world. While the book is well-known, the game will be a considered a new IP and will have to some very big shoes to fill if it’s competing with the mighty Kratos. Let’s begin to separate the two from one another.

- God of War was released on March 22, 2005 on Sony’s Playstation 2
- It was developed by Santa Monica studios and published by Sony Computer Entertainment
- The God of War series consist of: God of War, God of War 2 (released on March 13, 2007), God of War: Betrayal (released June 2, 2007 for mobile phones), a prequel called God of War: Chain of Olympus(released on March 4, 2007) and God of War 3 (released date is unknown) for Sony’s Playstation 3
