INTRO:

Gametrak Freedom(tm)
Motion control gaming goes to a new level with the Gametrak Freedom(tm), a proprietary and patent-pending ultrasonic 3D motion sensing technology that delivers performance and increases control and flexibility. Unlike other motion control gaming systems, Gametrak Freedom(tm) accurately tracks the true 3D position and precise movements of up to four players anywhere within a given environment providing unrivaled game play opportunities. PDP will launch the Gametrak Freedom(tm) exclusively for Xbox 360 in fall 2009.

Point #1

Nintendo Wii now has something called competition and considering Microsoft and how they operate in business, Nintendo should be a little concerned. Microsoft has so much more than Nintendo Wii as a platform with features such as, Xboxlive, Hi-Definition graphics, Netflix, and now Motion Controls. Microsoft already has some great games in store for the consumers to get there hands on come E3 and this will be a big bonus for the family oriented push for the casual market.

Point #2

Microsoft is a not just a software giant but a marketing giant in this generation of console wars. They know how to get people to notice what they are putting out in terms of products, and motion controls on the Xbox360 will definitely turn heads, and to showcase this feature in Hi-Def can make casual gamers go for the $200 dollar console over the $250 dollar Wii.

Point #3

“Squeeballs(tm)” is a collection of more than 150 unique challenges that showcases the capabilities of the Gametrak Freedom(tm) controller. In the game, Squeeballs are toys that are manufactured on a secret island somewhere in the Pacific and they must be fully tested by the players of the game before they can be sold to children across the world. By using the motion controller, players can blow up, cook, slice, bat, bowl, shoot and bounce the Squeeballs with greater accuracy than is capable with any other controller. “Squeeballs” is PDP’s first Microsoft-licensed title.

Closing

Can Microsoft surpass Nintendo Wii this generation maybe not but considering that it’s still early and Microsoft is in it for the long haul then Xbox360 could very well be on it’s way to having a Hi-Definition , motion controlled, next generation entertainment system and that is something Nintendo won’t be able to compete with for too much longer.
