Sony Is definitely stepping their game up with home, with the new addition of the living room stage set. Sony’s plan to create a world that gamers can truly play, interact with others , and live out a virtual life in is one step closer to becoming a reality. The potential of this application is near limitless. This new addition to home has (in my opinion) surpassed the Xbox live experience, Fan boy’s claim down!! This could very well be the app that brings the Machinama community to Sony’s Platform. Lastly don’t forget that Home Is FREE!!!!!!!

1.Xna and home are two different application that serve to very different purposes and cater to different diagrammatic’s. Xna is meant to lower the barrier of entry to becoming a game developer, many users want to make that transition but not very many have the programing or artistic skills needed to do so. That is why in my opinion games on xna are not user generated content. That Title goes to content similar to that of the levels created in little big planet.
2. When the Xbox 360 drooped it was just a next gen gaming machine.When the Ps3 come out it was marketed a multi media device and the ultimate user experience(they fell short but get a B for effort); also it’s a hub for movies, games, the internet, video conferences. It has the ability to install a different operating system (Linux) which opens the door to a total different world. Microsoft tried to follow suit with the HD DVD add on, and a camera for video but not much else. Where i’m going with this is that as far as catering to the user experience(while not playing a game Sony has nailed it (agin in my opinion, DOWN fan boys!!!).
3. I don’t know about you but I would rather a developer take a extremely long time and get it right(killzone) ,than for them to try to spoon feed me a turd and call it chocolate. My Problem with Live (I have several)is that there are no mediators and I’ve been Called the n work far to many time to be paying for it, Not to say this doesn’t happen on the Ps3 ,but it’s far less frequent and if your playing a Sony game (resistance for instance) Iv’e seen the game stooped or that person kicked which only mediation can do on most games.
4. I have already been making games on the Ps3 and the Xbox 360 . I was on the development team for one of the first(Good) Xbox 360 games GRAW 2, so I’ve been playing a 360 since a year after they came out (development units are very similar to reg units) I just recently decided I want to make games to profit myself and not a corporation.
Finally: If you search you could find many comparisons on the price points of the two models and will see that PS3 is a better value for your money. Lastly I live in a sweet (Two Bed room Two bath) town home in raleigh NC

Maybe you should re-read my response and see I was debating his comments.(DEBATING being the key word here since I am in disagreement) Also you do know the the comment section doesn’t have a requirement to get on your knees over anything written on this site right? So please squash the that fanboy shit with me as I own both a PS3 and 360. Even if I didn’t own one or the other it still would have nothing to do with my disagreement about HOME and this particular feature the article is about. I was responding to comments he made about Live which are incorrect and if he wants to respond back to them he can. Nothing fanboyish about what I said. WTF does your friend cutting yards proof? I am active duty Airforce so should I have bought five PS3’s?
Mboojigga, I thought BLACKSMITH said “Calm down fan boys!” YOU FAIL. The 400$ for the Ps3 is well worth, and I think that it should remain 400$ It’s not that damn bad really… My friend cuts yards and guess what? He has a Playstation 3!!….
I don’t need to post 2 things and we have known that content that MS proviides is called XNA. To make your own games and sell them on Live. Since it is all about games I find it funny you actually believe that after spending 400+ on a game console this is what GAMERS are looking for their system. Like I said, very laughable you hold this as some game changer to claim this component surpasses Live.
I don’t even have to go to 2003 I cam simply stay in this gen and point the differences in the two companies approach. Sony has a BETA of a program that has been so hyped it has been announced after many delays that it is in beta indefinately. Live has seen a new dashboard SUCCESSFULLY launched that isn’t in Beta. They launched XNA for people like you and me, ESPECIALLY you who saids they want to make videos games but somehow miss that in your response as if Sony has come up with somthing huge by basically making a version 2.0 of what is basically a barbie house that somehow is supposed to get people to spend 400_ for this?
Also, how long have u been a owner of a 360? You don’t know Live has given the consumers the tools to take care of those people who use derogatory comments to harass other gamers. Have you been living under a rock or somthing? Or just in denial? Or trying your hardest to push your point by ignoring the facts?
It surpasses live because it allows you to do so much, that is if your creative enough!!! You could recreate scenes from your favorite games or do a virtual game show with friends and post it on youtube. The fact that it still in beta only supports my statement more , can you imagine what the full blown version of home will be like? Lastly if you can name two things that Live does to show that they are interested in content you produce , post them? In my opinion they don’t even care about the fact that people still use derogatory comments to harass other gamers. Sony will ban your ass quick for that stuff, Sure you can create a new psn id but you’ll lose all your trophies.

Home has been free and it still is a deadzone in beta. Why is this addition just like the other additions start to get so hyped only to come to a realization that they have been wasting their time with HOME?
