That's a well thought out response. I think the main thing is that we're going to have to see what happens this year at E3 and TGS and we'll know for sure.

But what's most important is that we can have a discussion of these things without it devolving into the fanboy-calling screaming matches on other sites, that's what I like about hiphopgamer the most.

good articlt but for those thinking that sony, who does have good games coming out this year can beat microsoft this year, somewhat likely but WHOMEVER MARKETS BETTER WINS! chances are that will be microsoft based on prior campaigns.

Well since no one else mentioned it i must bring to the attention of the readers that neither Tales of Vesperia or Eternal Sonata were exclusive. They were timed exclusive Tales is hitting the PS3 this summer and eternal sonata came out for the PS3 a year later as well albeit both had additional content. Also you noted that the PS3 users will get the fallout 3 DLC but what i want to point out is that not only will PS3 owners be able to purchase the DLC but in october you can by the game with all DLC included for $60 bucks. I rented Fallout 3 so this allows me to purchase the game and it's DLC virtually for free.

@ YouKnowWhatltls

I am amazed at how thoroughly you analyzed my article! The fact that my article stimulated you to write that much is something that I am proud of accomplishing. Furthermore, I am honored to have your words written in the comments section of this article.

Now for my response,

@ rmx687
Thank you for your complement, and for your detailed points. However, I disagree with you on certain aspects related to the points that you have made, but then again, that is what a discussion is all about.

First, if you are stating that the day of exclusives in general is coming to end, then I might agree with you. However, if you were only pointing towards the Xbox 360, simply because Lost Planet and Bioshock came out on the PS3 after being exclusives to the Xbox 360, then I would choose to disagree. After all, Sony is the one that has been losing potential exclusives left and right ever since this generation started. With titles originally announced as PS3 exclusives including Devil May Cry 4, Tekken 6, Virtua Fighter 5, Fatal Inertia, Assassin's Creed, Grand Theft Auto 4, and Final Fantasy XIII, making its way to the Xbox 360, I would imagine that Sony is actually losing more exclusives than Microsoft, but that's just my opinion.

Second, Square's support for Microsoft is only beginning, they were testing the waters all this time. Now they are ready to go all the way. Square knew exactly what they were getting themselves into. They knew that, in Japan, it will be an uphill battle, but once you get enough gamers to embrace the console, sales will rise. The fact that they would release Star Ocean 4 exclusively was a major leap in itself.

More importantly, if you want to discuss sales, think about this: When White Night Chronicles came out, it sold over 207,000 copies in the first week! The PS3 at the time had an installed base of 2.7 million PS3 owners. On the other hand, when Star Ocean 4 came out, it sold over 165,000 copies in the first week! The Xbox 360 at the time had an installed base of only 960,000 Xbox 360 owners! The potential for a greater future for Microsoft in Japan is clearly there, and Square can see that.

Third, what makes this point difficult to tackle is that GTA4 The Lost and Damned is a DLC that is not sold as a retail package in stores. It depends on download. Therefore, they cannot be compared, but I don't think that we would disagree that the GTA name is far more powerful than the the Killzone 2 one. Not to mention several reports that imply that Killzone 2's production cost Sony more than 60 million USD!!

In the end, this is just my opinion, and regardless of our disagreement, we can always agree to disagree.

God Bless You

You are right! I'm impressed you noticed. I was in a hurry to finish up the article, so I quickly searched for a cool-looking Naruto pic. It did not even matter to me that it was for the PS3 because the PS3 Naruto title and the Two 360 Naruto titles look incredible! I just needed a great looking Naruto pic, and yes the online mode for The Broken Bond was interesting! Good eye!

Great Article, but why did you use the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm pic, a PS3 exclusive for the ubisoft Naruto games? IMO those 2 ubisoft Naruto games don't compare to the one Cyberconnect did for the PS3. However I did enjoy the online mode for The Broken Bond something that the one for the Ps3 lacked.

First, I'm not here to be a fanboy I'm here to tell the truth this is another bad case of journalism. Before I get going I just want to make it clear I own the X-box 360, PS3, Gaming PC, Wii, and most of the old gen systems too.

Thing that caught my eye about this article was the Kingdom Hearts III pic I knew what to expect as soon as I opened this article. You are on some bad crack if your insinuating that KH3 will be exclusive to X-box, be thankful for a port if there is one. if you haven't played the first two have fun playing them on PS2.

Every game on this article is lame besides Left4Dead and Fallout which Sony is getting (Fallout 3 DLC).there's nothing special about Glitches Of War 2(which is worse than the first game), or Tomb Raider (which is a pretty shitty game now days). Also, that naruto or whatever that garbage already has exclusive on PS3 I think its called called ninja storm. But that game is garbage anyway in my opinion. Dead Rising 2 is multi-platform. I ain't gonna say nothing about Lost Planet because from what I have seen it actually looks better than the first and the first I thought was pretty good even though I didn't care too much for all the snow

You honestly think any of them games will stack up to PS3 games in 09 like God Of War III, Uncharted II, M.A.G., White Knight Chronicles, Heavy Rain, L.A. Noire?..Don't even talk about 2010...Not only that have you been hearing word about Rockstar lately? Sounds like some people may just be missing out on GTA5, and if not GTA Three exclusives for sure... i could go on.. 360 might have owned 2006, 2007, and maybe even 2008. But, right now Sony is like a train building up momentum and cant be derailed. Honestly, Hardware Vs. Hardware and Software Vs. Software (we're talking on down the line) PS3 beats anything on the market besides a gaming PC. Sony Is The Future of home gaming consoles.

Well written, Master, but again a lot of this is out of touch:

Overall, the days of third party Microsoft-exclusive support are coming to an end. It's been eroding ever since Bioshock, Lost Planet, Red Alert 3, and others have all came to the PS3 with more features and/or better graphics. To top it off, it broke yesterday that all future Fallout 3 DLC will be multiplatform.

There is a very good reason why Square Enix is going to drop its 360 exclusive support. ALL THREE of those games COMBINED barely sold more than 500k copies TOTAL in the West. Worldwide they barely broke 1 million, and that's adding all three of them TOGETHER. How much do you think it cost to make those games? Square Enix was in a bad position last fiscal year, and they lost BIG on their gamble on the XBox. Furthermore, once FFXIII is released exclusively on the PS3 in Japan this Winter, there is going to be a major shift in video game alliances in general.

To make matters worse - Microsoft spent $50 million and got 2 DLC packs for GTA IV. Sony spent $20 million and got Killzone 2. Not only is that a new title that pushes the hardware forward in terms of capability, but it's also been reported to have done much better than the Lost & Damned has. Microsoft's paradigm is causing them to fall behind not only in terms of quality but in sales as well. DLC is not going to save them, and they're already losing their 3rd party DLC support.
