Hands On Impression of The PSP Go! and Gran Turismo PSP

As many of you guys know, the PSP Go! was officially revealed this E3. The system was made to both shrink the size of the system and make it a digital download platform. The system, which is scheduled to drop this Fall and be priced at $250, is what Sony hopes is the next step in portable gaming.

The first thing you notice when you hold the PSP Go! is how slick the system feels and looks. It’s very compact and would seem to be fragile but feels very sturdy. It contains built in 16GB internal storage and has the ability for owners to add more memory to the console.

The Go! unfortunately doesn’t have a second analog stick or improvements in the power under the hood. The location of the only analog stick should be switched with the directional pad, so instead of having to reach over it is right there. The basic control layout and style of the system are very familiar to those that PSP owners are used to.

My time with the system let me see the good and the bad. The good is that the system is smaller, slick, and has 16GB built in memory. The bad is that this system isn’t really necessary if you already own a PSP. The system isn’t any more ‘powerful’ than the original PSP and unless you hate UMD’s the system isn’t worth the insane $250 price. Only but it if you are on the go a lot or you’ve never owned a PSP

Gran Turismo looks incredible on the PSP. The graphics in GT:PSP are some of the best in the consoles history, and really do feel like true Gran Turismo game. The game is fun and is a must buy for fans of sim racing games. This game is the type of game that could be fun for hours at time while on the go. With over 800 cars available in the retail product and the game running at 60 frames per second it is obvious that GT is pushing the PSP technically. The game plays great from what I got to expierence and I suggest you keep your eyes out for it.
