Modern Warfare 2 Attempts To Take The GTA4 Crown Of Day One Sales

Activision is showing why they are the number 1 publisher in the videogame industry. Games like PROTOTYPE that just hit store shelves is blowing people away, also the X-Men Origins was a great movie game title which is rare too see in this industry, but now comes the megaton bomb. Modern Warfare 2 is looking to set a new standard not just in gameplay or graphics but in overall Sales. Activision did a Advertising deal with TBWA Ad Agency so big that even the mighty Grand Theft Auto Series will be moved to the number 2 spot with first day sales records (3.6million).

“We believe the idea that TBWA presented to us delivers on that goal,” said Brad Jakeman, chief creative officer of Activision, speaking to Ad Age.
“What we liked most about the TBWA campaign is that it’s an idea that’s big enough to be articulated in lots of different kind of media. That is always the acid test for a great idea.”
This Ad Campaign will incorporate TV, print, outdoor, social and online media.
The biggest entertainment launch of all time is the title that Activision wants to potray in order to surpass GTA4 when Modern Warfare 2 is released. Looking back at history with Call Of Duty 4 and world at war, this revelation is already in the making.
November 10th 2009 will be the day the game industry see a new world record in sales and overall industry growth, along with this launch Microsoft is getting a bigger share of the pie with the timed exclusive map packs that is set to debut shortly after release of Modern Warfare 2.
At the rate Activision is going with there triple A titles and marketing they are putting themselves in position to recruit more companies similiar to blizzard so on that note one more question remains could Midway Newcastle be in their RADAR?.

COD4 was a great game! With enough advertising for 360, it gained sales.
And with more references and recommendationa, the game got even more sales.

veryone who played MW1 were not disappointed by the game; if you hated the campaign; you’ll love the online, if you hated the online, you’ll love the campaign.
But, this is GTA we are talking about here O_o. This game is huge man:/

but than im excited for Mw2 because that video M$ showed at E3 looked realy realy good.
but i dunno its going up against bioshock 2 and assasins creed 2 o and the mother load uncharted 2.

I wouldnt say set a new standard in graphics pal, when i saw the gameplay when they showed the demo there wasnt nothing new in graphics gameplay looked the same, but what csn you say it a good game with a big install base all about the money for companies,
