NEWS:

This is great news for EA considering the slump Need For Speed titles were in. This years E3 EA came with the heat for the Wii, PS3, and 360 with two big titles Need For Speed Shift and Nitro and the gamers responded in a incredible way.

Need For Speed is back and it’s better than ever and it’s ready to compete with other premiere titles such as Forza 3 and Gran Turismo 5, stay tuned for more on these new iterations of EA’s classic racing game franchise in the coming months.

As everyone’s mind moves from E3 and looks towards the next big games show in Germany we wanted to close off the E3 story with some great news from the judges from the event. As you’ll have seen from all the coverage so far people are pretty impressed with both Nitro and SHIFT but both games had particularly good sessions with the judges.

Need for Speed Nitro was voted Best Racing Game for Wii & DS by the guys at IGN.com where they said: “Nitro didn’t have much competition this E3, but rather than taking a “default” spot on our best of E3 it defined the category. Bringing an all new development team, engine, and visual style Nitro is 100% Wii, and it’s the start of something great for EA and Nintendo’s console. Blazing fast visuals (60 frames per second) mixed with some classic arcade drifting to create a package that’s more Burnout than classic NFS. It may be alone in its category, but it would have topped the lot regardless.”

IGN.com were big fans of SHIFT as they crowned it the Best Racing Game for PS3 at E3. In their summary they said: “There was a lot of good competition on the racing front this year, but Need for Speed SHIFT outpaced everything else thanks to its incredible dashboard view. Your vision blurs, kicks and reels with smacks from other cars and the environment, and the engine feedback even while you’re racing clean is top-notch. All other racers need to take note at how to handle a realistic driving perspective.”

After E3 the Nielsen group ran a survey to find out which games had impressed people enough for them to become ‘instant buys’ upon their release and both SHIFT and Nitro were in the top ten for the most interesting games at the show beating such games as Beatles Rock Band.

UFC 2009 Patch Details Below

Posted by hiphopgamer | Microsoft, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, Sony | Tuesday 7 July 2009 9:46 pm

NEWS:

UFC 2009 is an incredible game but all great games aren’t perfect. There were issues with the online when UFC launched and some auto save problems with the PS3 version of the game. THQ understands that these problems needed to be attended too and the upcoming patch will answer the call. Look below to find out what the enhancements are and the changes made to the game

ufc-2009-undisputed

1. We’ve adjusted Ranked Matches to match up players with better connections, which will improve lag issues we’ve seen to date.

2. We’ve adjusted the difficulty of performing submissions against AI opponents to improve the balance of subs vs. striking when playing against the AI.

3. We’ve adjusted the Flash KO rate so that they are less frequent.

4. We’ve increased maximum number of points awarded in online play from 99,999 to 999,999 and we’ve increased the Max Level from 100 to 200.

5. We’ve lowered the Winning Streak Bonus Max from 5 to 3.

6. We’ve removed the decimal places on the Leaderboard Winning Percentage so we only show whole percentages.

7. We’ve addressed the CAF cheat so the skill levels in CAF cannot be cheated and increased. Also any CAF with unfair point values will no longer be able to be used Online.

8. For PS3 users we’ve also fixed a bug that causes a freeze during auto-save; whichever controller was used to Press Start on the Title Screen will be identified as the main controller.

Assassin’s Creed II Developer’s Diary

Posted by Killa-Indian | Microsoft, PC, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, Sony | Tuesday 7 July 2009 7:31 pm

Check out the Assassin’s Creed II video courtesy of GameTrailers. One thing to note is that you will find out how Desmond got his Eagle vision, and you get to find out a little more about the story and Ezzo himself. Ohh and make sure to watch the part where he kills the two guards with his hidden blades. The game is clearly, by that scene, much more gorier. I can not wait until this game comes out. So many good games this fall….

EA announces DLC for Fight Night Round 4

EA has announced today that they’re going to release several DLC packages for Fight Night Round 4 for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The first DLC package will be release in August and it will include a new training gym, new gameplay sliders and new equipment. If that is not enough, Xbox 360 owners will get an exclusive alternate version of Sugar Ray Leonard. In early September another DLC package will be release that will allow the player to map punches to the face buttons on the controller. The good news about this particular DLC package, is that it will be free for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Senior producer, Dean Richards made a statement today saying:

The depth and variety of new content we have planned this summer is going to make one of the most critically acclaimed games on the market even better.” He also stated, “Among the new content in development, our new button control scheme will give fans a choice for how they want to throw punches in the game. We strongly believe that the refined Total Punch Control is the most intuitive way to throw punches in Fight Night Round 4, but we also want fans of the franchise to have an option.”

Congratulations to EA for listening to their fan base, Im touched. EA did not say when or how many more DLC packs fans can expect to see, so hopefully we can see EA put more boxers in the game in the near futures.

Laptop Suggestions for the Future

Posted by Killa-Indian | PC, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Tuesday 7 July 2009 5:12 pm

Post comments on laptops you are looking forward to

There are plenty of laptops to choose from if you are looking for one. Here are two that I came by that I think will be great. I just picked 2 that I am anticipating. I will give you the specs and everything. Ohh, the ones I choose are all below 1000 dollars.

Asus U80V

I can not wait until this laptop comes out. I am most likely going to purchase this. It is out in places like Canada, France, Singapore, etc…but not in US. Supposedly it will be out around mid-July. Basically, next week. The reason I cannot wait for this laptop is the specs listed below

Specs

  • Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 (2.4GHz)
  • 14.0″ LED-backlit Display
  • ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570
  • up to 4GB Ram
  • 250GB/320GB/500GB hard drive
  • DVD burner
  • Bluetooth and Wireless
  • 5lb

Now that is a lot to absorb. Their are variations, but it will start at around 900 dollars. You will get 320GB hard drive, with 4GB ram, and a very good graphics card for 900. That is an impressive deal. The one thing that put it over the top for me was the battery life. Supposedly 6 hours of battery life. If that is true, then it is a done deal. Now, I am still waiting for the reviews to come in. Some sites are saying the display is bad along with the build structures. That is all subject to change, since they probably did not get the final builds. One more thing to mention is that you get a backlit keyboard and mousepad. That is insane. In terms of gaming, you can’t run Crysis on high, but you can run games like L4D without a problem. It is a cheap all around laptop with great battery life and above average gaming performance.

Lenovo Ideapad S12

Moving on to the next one. This one is considered to be a netbook. I choose this too because of its specs and also because of its size. It is the Lenovo Ideapad S12. I like to think of this as the ATOM ant.  It will be out around August and will cost about 500 dollars. Check out the specs to see why it may be worth the price.

Specs

  • Intel’s 1.6GHz Atom CPU
  • 12.1″ LED-backlit display
  • NVIDIA’s Ion Chipset
  • 1GB Ram
  • 160/250/320GB Hard Drive
  • DVD burner
  • HDMI and Wireless
  • under 5lbs

Now the only problem I see is the processor, but that is not a big deal. The thing that amazed me is that this laptop can play 1080p videos flawlessly. This is because of the GPU. It is using NVidia’s new Ion Chipset. This pretty much makes the GPU work while playing HD videos and frees up the CPU. Check out the video below to get a better idea on it. You can also play games like COD4 on medium/low settings. So you can also do some light gaming on it. Ohh and it comes with an HDMI port. All this for 500 dollars. That is an amazing deal.

Super Mario Galaxy in HD (Stunning!)

Posted by Killa-Indian | Nintendo, PC, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Tuesday 7 July 2009 4:23 pm

My god! Check the screenshots. Super Mario Galaxy in HD looks amazing. Goes to show you that all you do not need a kickass machine to get awesome visuals……you just need HD. The game obviously is not the best looking, but you can admit that it looks very pretty. The art style really works well and looks better when you can smooth everything out. This is all thanks to the Dolphin emulator. Check out the screens below and the video below for more.

PSP2 in Production?

Posted by Killa-Indian | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, Sony | Tuesday 7 July 2009 4:00 pm

Supposedly, via Eurogamer.es, PSP2 is in development right now and it is more powerful than the original Xbox and uses an upgraded version of the iPhone’s graphic chip. Don’t get excited because this is just a rumor. All I have to say about it though is that if it is true, then they better come up with a much better control layout. Maybe, they will even go for the HD approach like HHG talked about in one of his previous shows. Regardless, I will believe it when I see it and it will most likely be at next year’s E3 (or TGS 09′, but I highly doubt it).

Killzone 2 & MGS4 PS3 Bundle Now Available

Posted by PAYBACK-IRONMAN | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, Sony | Tuesday 7 July 2009 3:38 pm

Sony has just released what could be the best bundle they’ve ever released. The new PS3 80gb bundle includes the critically acclaimed stealth action game, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Guerilla games Killzone 2. Both of these games are some of the finest games of the PS3 and each one has been met with positive reviews and MGS4 even took several game of the year awards back in 2008.

mgbundle

The best thing about this bundle is that it will still cost $399.99 and the bundle is now in stores right now. Although so far Best Buy is the only retailer that is selling this bundle at the moment and there’s no word if other retailers like Gamestop or Ebgames will receive the bundle but I’m confident that it will make its way to other stores in the near future.
