Battlefield 1943 was released earlier today on Xbox Live and at its ridiculous low price of $15 you’d be a fool not to get this game. But because so many people have downloaded the game its causing the game to have server issues and its making the game very difficult to play online.

battlefield-1943-20090601044240865_640wThe EA forums have been blowing up with complaints from the fans about server issues and some are even saying that the game is just unplayable at this time. However EA has stated that they are hard at work on fixing the servers and they are just adding more servers to meet the demand of players. So for all of those that purchased Battlefield: 1943 please be patient and I’m sure that the issue will be fixed with in a day or two.

Stay tuned for our Battlefield:1943 review coming soon.

Bioware Hints At New Mass Effect DLC

Posted by PAYBACK-IRONMAN | Microsoft, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Wednesday 8 July 2009 9:07 pm

A recent post on a BioWare employee’s Twitter page revealed that a second offering of DLC for the sci-fi epic Mass Effect could be announced very shortly. Although when recently asked about it, BioWare’s co-founder Ray Muzyka had this to say regarding the DLC.

mass_effect_securom“We haven’t announced it formally yet but I think you can expect something in the next little while,” he said. “Probably some kind of announcement about [the ME DLC]. It’s pretty cool. I’ve been playing what we’re working on there and fans will find it fun.”

Speculation is that it could be a new quest that will some how tie in to Mass Effect 2’s story, but I guess we’ll just have to wait until BioWare’s ready to drop the final word on the what this new DLC will be about. So stay tuned for an official announcment in the coming weeks.

Steve McNair’s Girlfriend is behind the tragic homicide

Posted by Killa-Indian | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Wednesday 8 July 2009 4:07 pm

McNair KilledPolice confirmed today that the person behind Steve McNair’s death is actually his girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi . Apparently she had a lot of personal problems in her life and decided to take her own life as well as her boyfriend’s life. She shot McNair in the chest two times before shoting him in the head.

Kazemi suspected Steve was seeing another women and that could have possibly pushed her over the edge. She also had a lot of debts and police say that she told friends that she should just end her life, but nobody expected this to happen. Who knows what really was going on inside Sahel Kazemi’s head before she pulled the trigger.

RIP Sahel Kazemi and Steve McNair

MAG Gameplay and Impressions

Posted by Killa-Indian | Previews, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, Sony | Wednesday 8 July 2009 3:39 pm

Check out the video after the jump. It was the first time I played the game. I was kind of noob at it. Sorry for the bad audio by the way. I played more then 3 minutes by the way. After the camera was off, I played a good 15 minutes. Here are my impressions

First thing I have to mention is that everybody at the demo booth at that time was playing a 256 player match. They only debuted one huge map for the E3 demo.

What I liked

I loved the control layout. Even though it took some time to get used to, it felt a lot like COD4. The gameplay itself felt like COD4 but with a more objective based gameplay. I like that you can help prevent spawn camping by just jumping into the helicopter spawn turrets and destroy everything in sight. I really like the whole feel of the game. You can run and reload as you can see in the video. The perfect online military grade shooter. So many weapon loadouts that I started to get confused.

What I did not like

The learning curve is pretty steep. It will take time to get used to everything. It is the type of game where you do not want to skip the tutorials and guides. So many logos on the screen that you can’t tell what you have to do. I had to ask a developer to help me out, since there was no tutorial or any help. One more minor thing that I disliked is the map. It is so packed with icons that you can barely make out the roads or the layout of the map. The map is not as organized as I would like. Still the only problem is that you have to get used to everything. The game throws so much at you that it will take some time to adjust.

Final Thoughts

For a 256 player online FPS on the console, the game is very good. So much is given that it might seem overwhelming. Once you get used to everything however, the game works smoothly. I did not use the headset, but communication will be key. The way the party is split up is great. It almost feels like the way squads are split up in Resistance 2, but better. The XP system works real well too. It is sort of like COD4, but the more you follow the leader’s requests as a soldier, the faster you can become a leader. The better you do, the better planning you do, and the better instruction following you do, the more XP you will gain and the quicker you will rank up. All and all, this game looks like it will be a top notch online shooter and can hold its own against Modern Warfare 2.

Faith, Lil Kim Clash At Diddy’s White Party

Posted by hiphopgamer | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, hiphop | Wednesday 8 July 2009 12:17 pm

NEWS:

Lil Kim and Faith had a face-to-face encounter towards the close of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ coveted White Party in California, sources have reported.

Faith and Kim, whom both shared a relationship with The Notorious B.I.G., crossed paths at the White Party, which was held in Los Angeles instead of The Hampton’s in New York.

Sources with AllHipHop.com said that Lil Kim took issue with her representation in Notorious, the biopic in which Faith was attached to.

Faith was in attendance with her husband and Lil Kim was with producer Choke No Joke and to some, this augmented the tension.

“It was really heated,” one source said. “It was about to pop off…there was crazy screaming.”

According to sources, Faith was saying, “I love you” to Lil Kim and Kim responded with “God bless you.”

However, later at the event, Kim asked Faith, “How would you say you love me when you trashed me in your book?”

Under anonymity, a source told AllHipHop.com “We know that [Faith saying 'I love you'] is bulls**t. It wasn’t even about the movie. It hurt Kim that she was being fake.”

Actor Dennis Da Menace, who played D-Roc in “Notorious” and Devante Swing of Jodeci fame were able to prevent a potentially violent exchange between Faith’s husband, Todd Russaw, and Choke No Joke.

“At first it was cool, but then Dennis had to peace it out,” another source said.

Russaw reportedly attempted to take pictures as Kim and Faith spoke peacefully, to which Choke took exception.

Choke expressed publicly that it was inappropriate to take pictures and charged that Russaw was intoxicated. Russaw was not available for comment on the allegation.

Of the matter, Choke would only say, “Yes, I was there, but I don’t have nothing to do with it. Please leave me out of it.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs was not at the location at the time of the incident.

Despite the drama, Diddy managed to raise awareness for a charity, Malaria No More and his guests enjoyed their time, reports say.

Guests included Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, Khloe Kardashian, Busta Rhymes, Tyrese, Shanna Moakler, Lindsay Lohan, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon and Jonah Hill.

Even Chris Brown attended and performed his rendition of “Thriller.”

Sony: PSN Doing More Than XboxLive. That’s Not A True Statement

Posted by hiphopgamer | Microsoft, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, Sony | Wednesday 8 July 2009 11:37 am

NEWS:

The battle of the online functions between Microsoft and Sony is heating up but who is really delivering on their console for us gamers out there. Eric Lempel of Sony says that they are not playing catch up and in some respects they are doing more than Xboxlive which is obviously not true. Still to this day there’s features gamers have been starving for that after 2 and 1/2 years we still don’t have that’s very instrumental to the success of online gaming.

This is some of what Xboxlive have that PSN doesn’t and it goes as followed.

1. Cross Game Invites
2. Sending Voice Messages
3. In-game Party Chat
There’s more but let’s just leave it at that

xbox

Those 3 functions alone adds so much value to the Xbox online community that it’s worth paying for. Now PSN main advantage is the fact you have home with the ability to make new friends without having to start up a game to do so which is great and also it’s free. Truthfully just because something is free doesn’t always mean better, QUALITY always win and in terms of playing games online Xbox Live features and functionality is still on top and this fall considering the addition with twitter and facebook along with other unknown features at the moment Microsoft is going to take Xbox Live to a whole new level.

Think about this Xbox Live has a little over 20 million paid subscribers, if PSN had a subscription service just like XboxLive where would the PSN network be considering the features both online systems provide for gamers.

Here’s some quotes from Eric Lempel Himself below.

“I don’t think there’s a lot of ‘catch up’ [with XBL] any more. In some cases, I think we’ve got more, and we’ve got some other things they don’t have,”

“In terms of strengths, of course we’re still free, and we’re giving you a lot for free. It’s not just free online gaming, but we’ve got PlayStation Home, which is a massive community and application that’s totally free to use.

“I think there’s a lot we’re doing that in some cases they’re not doing, and I don’t see a lot of things they’re doing that we’re not,”

“Right now our free catalogue consists of demos, wallpapers, themes and videos about games. I don’t think we want to degrade the experience you get from a PSP. Because [iPhone] is not a gaming-centric device, I think a user picks it up and says, ‘This is kind of dumb, but I don’t care because I know this device wasn’t intended for games.’

The potential is actually all in Sony’s favor right now because the fact that PSN is a free service all they have to do is implement significant upgrades that will match or even surpass the features Xboxlive has and the moment Sony can provide that service for free then Xbox Live will be dethroned easily but until then gamers has chosen and Xbox Live is the premiere place for online gaming on a console.

Little Big Planet 2 In The Works? What Should Be Added

Posted by hiphopgamer | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, Sony | Wednesday 8 July 2009 10:19 am

NEWS:

Media Molecules Alex Evans said he would love to see a sequel now although there’s no announcement stay tuned for more DLC and creativity in this title.

As far as Little Big Planet 2 what should be added to this game that’s not present in the first so here’s a list of the potential this game can have.

1. Motion Controls – Utilizing Sony’s Magic Wand can really add a new level of fun to a game like little big planet 2

2. Create A Story Mode in Little Big Planet 2 would be excellent and allow users to not just play levels you create but allow them to play out a certain story. EXAMPLE – let’s say you go on a road trip and a few funny things happened along the way implement that in the game and allow people to play out an experience you actually had in real life.

3. Allow Little Big Planet 2 to be played as if it was an open world game sorta like ratchet, GTA, so it’s not only a 3-D side scroller, but it can turn into an all out adventure title as well.

4. Little Big Planet 2 will be huge if this feature is added and let’s call it “Little Big Abilities” All the DLC such as the metal gear pack, the santa claus pack, the killzone pack, also the street fighter pack.

Imagine being able to access the powers the costume represents.

Example – if you dress up as ken from street fighter in Little Big Planet then sack boy can do Ha-do-ken and sho-ryu-ken, amongst other moves. Imagine dressing up as Batman and being able to do all the moves Batman can do using your sackboy. This will completely transform the game and make the costumes more than just something to look at.

Sony’s Cambridge studios are currently working with Media Molecule to bring the game to the PSP, while the support for the original game continues apace with the latest download introducing Ghostbusters themed content to LittleBigPlanet.
