Press Release:

Mark your calendars: Xbox LIVE Arcade is once again bringing you the hottest and biggest downloadable blockbusters!

Last year, Xbox LIVE Arcade marked a new era of quality downloadable games during the first annual Summer of Arcade program with “Castle Crashers,” which was voted Best Game of the Year in the 2008 Xbox LIVE Arcade Awards and has generated more than $10 million in revenue to date. The imaginative and innovative “Braid” peaked as one of the top five selling Xbox LIVE Arcade titles of 2008 and boasts the highest Metacritic rating of all Xbox LIVE Arcade games to date, proving that Xbox LIVE Arcade is home to the best and brightest digitally distributed games available.

This year, Xbox LIVE Arcade is at it again. No matter what kind of games you enjoy, the second annual Summer of Arcade turns up the dial with original Xbox 360 exclusives like the award-winning “Shadow Complex,” the fresh and ridiculously funny award-winner “Splosion Man,” and remade classics like “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles™: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled.”

“The second annual Summer of Arcade continues our legacy of delivering the most popular downloadable games right to your Xbox 360,” said Scott Austin, director of digitally distributed games at Microsoft. “Last year’s program introduced blockbusters that changed the face of Xbox LIVE Arcade. This year, we’re excited to take Arcade to a whole new level and deliver on our promise of quality yet again with all-new smash hits like the highly-anticipated ‘Shadow Complex’ and ‘Trials HD.’”

Alan Wake For PC Being Dropped? Xbox360 Is All They Need

Posted by hiphopgamer | Microsoft, PC, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Friday 10 July 2009 12:27 pm

NEWS:

For so long analyst and fanboys proclaimed that Alan Wake wouldn’t look as good as the PC tech demos that were initially being displayed to the public. Now it’s very possible almost a confirmation that the PC version will be dropped and considering the showing of Alan Wake at this years E3 that just passed the PC version isn’t needed anyway.

Microsoft has come a long way in this game industry and games like Alan Wake, Splinter Cell, Halo , are all jewels that has graced the Xbox360. Here’s what Sam Lake had to say regarding Alan Wake and the PC edition.

“We are fully concentrated on the Xbox 360 version,” said Sam Lake, lead writer for Alan Wake to Edge. “Other than that the plans are up in the air and open. Once we get this version done we’ll see.”

“As I said, the plans are open, and once we’re done with the 360 version we’ll evaluate the situation and see what makes sense.”

The PC market is dying for a few reasons and it goes like this.

1. The cost is too high for the mass market consumer to enjoy PC gaming to it’s highest setting

2. Most games on PC you can get on the consoles which is cheaper and comparable

3. Developer support isn’t as strong on PC as the console market is so you get more game and bang for your buck with consoles over the PC machines

These reasons alone should show that developers need to focus more on developing for consoles and, supporting that mass market should bring easy games and ports to the PC, just so that the percentage of gamers that do game on PC will still have something to look foward too.

Posted by hiphopgamer | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, Sony | Friday 10 July 2009 1:02 am

NEWS:

Naughty Dog announces new features gamers can enjoy when the game is released later this year.

Game Of The Year Potential all the way this game is going to be mind blowing with the story line, multi-player, action, and features this game will revolutionize the 3rd person action adventure genre.

Since the release of Uncharted Drakes Fortune back in 2007 it was easily a sleeper hit but when you have games like Halo 3 coming out in the same year it’s hard for sleeper hit titles to get the proper shine they deserve. Amazingly Uncharted held it’s own selling a little over 2 million copies and making a mark on the Playstation 3 console exclusively. Now 2 years later Naughty Dog has reached a level not seen in any other game in this genre and records will be shattered.

Uncharted 2 won game of the show at E3′09 and although God Of War 3 was present and playable Uncharted 2 considering that it’s coming out this year really stood out of the crowd and with these new features and looking at this new footage gamers around the world shall be prepared for another epic journey through Drake’s Fortune.

1. Cinema Mode – Multiplayer matches will be recorded with the option to upload them to the Naughty Dog servers and also download other Multi-player matches to see how others played their game as well. Incredible similiar to Halo 3’s feature but enhanced

2. Drake can have up to 4 allies with him at a time so expect the action to be updated dramatically.

3. Live updates this is great no more patches meaning that Naughty Dog Devs can actually change things in the game, levels, maps, etc… right on the fly giving gamers brand new experiences unexpectedly

4. New beta to hit this summer to give fans another warm-up leading up to the release of Uncharted 2 Among Thieves
