Posted by MattG | Microsoft, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Wednesday 22 July 2009 11:49 pm

Game is looking bad ass. Definitely a 1st day purchase for me, and that is saying something because I’m cheap. The game looks great, so hopefully it lives up to it’s potential.

What do you guys think of the trailer and the game?

Microsofts Handheld Will Hurt Sony Because Of The Xbox Live Effect

Posted by hiphopgamer | Microsoft, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Wednesday 22 July 2009 8:49 pm

This generation alone we’ve seen things that us as gamers thought was impossible. Microsoft having tons of RPG’s , Nintendo in the #1 spot, Playstation 3 in 3rd place at the moment what else can be upon us? Oh That’s Right Microsofts handheld is coming whether you believe it or not and judging by the strategies that Microsoft has taken to utilize with the Xbox360, their handheld counter part will be just as dangerous to the competition.

Microsoft releasing a handheld in a few ways can hurt Sony. The #1 reason will be with XboxLive, that service streaming on a powerful portable machine will do wonders for the gaming community but also the japanese market will show more support to Xbox.

The 2nd reason is the fact that competition always bring something new to the table and in the case of Microsoft that would be games like Halo, Splinter Cell, Gears Of War, just imagine those experiences but on the go.

The 3rd reason would be the learning experience from their rival competitor the PSP. PSP is a great machine but even on it’s own there’s issues such as, one analog stick, you can almost guarantee that Xbox portable will have 2 analog sticks matching the home console experience. That alone will be killer and gamers everywhere that wanted this from Sony and yet didn’t get it will go elsewhere to play the way they want to play.

No one knows the date but we all know this is coming, and it’s all part of Microsofts plan to not only take over the living room but your on the go experience as well. Stay Tuned For More Details

Get Your Gay On October 29th when GTAIV DLC Drops

Posted by MattG | Microsoft, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Wednesday 22 July 2009 6:11 pm

The next episode in the GTA IV DLC, The Ballad of Gay Tony, is dropping Ocotober 29th. This is the 2nd piece of exclsuive Xbox 360 DLC for GTA IV. Also coming out on October 29th is, Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City, which is The Lost and Damned and Gay Tony  on a retail disc. Instead of downloading them and taking up space on your hard drive it’s nice that developers are giving you the option to buy a physical product.

The second Xbox 360 exclusive episode will put players in the role of Luis Lopez, confirming previous rumors, as his part-time hoodlum duties are supplemented by full-time work for nightclub impresario Tony “Gay Tony” Prince. This is a large departure from the rough neck crowd you played in the original GTA IV and “The Lost and Damned”.

The Ballad of Gay Tony is going to cost $19.99 and no price has been confirmed for the “Episodes From Liberty City”. Though with both of the DLC costing $19.99 and the cost of production common sense would expect it to be at least $40 though nothing is confirmed.

In case you don’t know, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2’s story will take place during the Civil War storyline, which pitted most pitted most of the heroes against each other all because of the Superhuman Registration Act. Some characters you can expect to play as in the game will include Spiderman, Venom, Wolverine, Hulk, Thor and many others.

Since I own the original Marvel Ultimate Alliance I’ll definetley be picking this game up this September. Also if your unfamiliar with the Civil War storyline then I strongly recommend that you look into it because it is one of the best Marvel stories ever told and it forever changed the Marvel universe all together.

50 Cent And Eminem Joint Album? 50 Cent Is Already Down With It

Posted by hiphopgamer | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, hiphop | Wednesday 22 July 2009 12:55 pm

Voice Of The People: 50 Cent Responds To You

Could it ever really happen? In May, we brought you news that years ago, there had been loose discussion that Eminem and 50 Cent would make an entire album together. DJ Whoo Kid had a good laugh, telling us some of the names that were thrown around in jest for the dream project, like Ebony and Ivory. You guys wrote in and, for the most part, were in full support of the joint effort.

“Oh yes … they should totally do an album together,” a fan named Tuff_Brunette wrote. They would be soooo perfect. They would complement each other so nicely. I am really hoping this happens! Since I wasn’t too fond of Em’s album anyways, which was massively disappointing, I’ll give him another shot if he gets with 50. … Heck yes.”

“I would love an album of Dre and Eminem together!” Fobgirl posted.

Jasent76 co-signed on the dream album: “Holy sh–! I would love to have a full album of Em & 50 together! How badass is that!?”

Very badass, Jasent. While we still haven’t heard word from Mr. Mathers, 50 Cent told us last week that he’d be down to do an album with his homie Eminem. “I’d love to,” 50 said about a LP with Slim Shady.

Fif even devised a couple of scenarios to make it work.

“We haven’t [seriously] discussed making an album together, ’cause we would have to sit collectively and create each song,” he said. “Unless we was doing something where half of it was his and half of it was mine. And conceptually, maybe if he came up with the first six songs and I built the last six songs and we just featured on each other’s records, you know what I mean? We’d do that in a heartbeat.”

Maybe we’ll get heavy doses of Em and Fif together on Dr. Dre’s Detox LP.

The Billboard Charts Will Now Include Music Downloaded For Games

Posted by hiphopgamer | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, hiphop | Wednesday 22 July 2009 12:24 pm

Well Well it seems HipHopGamer the fusion of Music and Games is spreading. The success of the game industry simply can not be ignored and the music along with the movie industry recognizes this.

dj hero

Now with this new business model not only will the music biz grow from having a more gamer centric audience to provide content to, but now music isn’t just something you listen to,but can now play with which gives more value to the artist and the gamers.

It’s only a matter of time until we see radio stations such as power 105, hot 97, and all rock and roll stations utilize games such as DJ hero, Band Hero, and Rock Band as official marketing tools to break new artist, or to even create challenges to raise interest in the music market.
More Details Below

“At the moment we’re not including downloads from games, and as a result of that labels aren’t promoting their releases through games in the way that they might if sales of these downloads contributed to the charts,” pointed out Talbot. “They would rather sell a vanilla download through Amazon or 7digital and have it contribute to the charts.

“As soon as [game downloads] are incorporated, you’ll start to see people become much more active in making those tracks available, I think.”

“If people went onto iTunes and bought a karaoke version of a Michael Jackson track because they wanted to celebrate on the day of his memorial, or whatever, that’s absolutely fine and it will be reflected in the charts.

“Our concern is what is being bought on a weekly basis. We can never know the motives for people going out and buying music,” added Talbot.

It’s simple logic for the chart company – “If that’s the way people buy music, that’s the way they buy music – that’s all the charts are there to reflect,” Talbot concluded.

Activision W..T..F: Band Hero (New Music Title)

Posted by MattG | Features, Microsoft, Nintendo, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, Sony, music | Wednesday 22 July 2009 3:56 am

You haven’t found the music game for you yet? With Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Singstar, Lips, DJ Hero, Scratch Ultimate DJ, Beatles Rock Band, Def Jam Rapstar, and even that Konmai game from last year you’d think we’d have all the music games covered. Well we all thought wrong as our lovely friends at Activision have decided to pump out ANOTHER music game, Band Hero. Now don’t get me wrong we love a lot of Activision’s titles and we love our music games but this is getting kind of ridiculous. Why does this game need to be a stand alone title? Why not just make it DLC or include it with the upcoming Guitar Hero?

The game is due out in November (according to the website) which is right after Guitar Hero 5 in September and DJ Hero in October, with Guitar Hero: Van Halen due out by December. That’s a new music game every month this Fall from Acitivison, with a new peripheral set also.

The game is targeting a more “pop” demographic which I guess is missing from the instrument music games, with artists like Lily Allen, Taylor Swift, The Jackson 5, and more. No doubt it has it’s demographic, but why the need for an entirely new franchise? Why have people pay $200 for the typical instrument package (Get your pre-order from any major online retailer now!)?

The game looks like it could be a Guitar Hero if they wanted it to be, maybe they don’t want people to feel like they are milking the franchise so they created a new one? Just some clarification would be nice on this.

Also to the fans of the sites, why do music games always have models dancing around in these posh apartments looking like they are at a Chuckee Cheese for adults? I wish my Guitar Hero friends were that cool.

Note: Band Hero will be available on all the major consoles for either a $60 game or a $200 Bundle.
