I gotta admit that for a rail shooter it looks pretty good. Obviously Resident Evil fans would want full blown remakes, but I mean this looks like a pretty fun alternative. The graphics seem pretty good for the Wii, and the game creates solid suspense.
Here’s a video from Comic Con 2009 showing off a new co-op mode in Uncharted 2 called Gold Rush. In the game you and your friends have to find a certain treasure indicated on the map, carry it over to the treasure chest as a team, defeat all the enemies that are trying to stop you from getting to the goal, and then when you finish that you keep playing with tougher enemies until you eventually die. Looks fun, and has a lot of Horde mode similarities but obviously isn’t the highlight of the game. I have no complaints though because it seems like the guys at Naughty Dog are throwing in so much content. The single player, story co-op, multiplayer, and this seems like a pretty sweet package. It’s always nice to have a wide variety of modes to play.
A couple months ago Insomniac revealed that they were having a competition to allow fans of the Ratchet and Clank series to make a weapon in the upcoming title “A Crack In Time”. Well the fans did not disappoint and sent thousands of entries, but they could only choose one. Below is the winner of the contest, and it will be featured in the game which drops this Fall.
I got a chance to get some hands on time with this title at E3, and it is one of the best PSP titles I ever played. It feels like a full fledged GT in the palm of my hands. The graphics are top notch for the console, the gameplay is very solid, and with hundreds of cars included there are a lot of options. Here is a commercial for the title which drops Oct 1st (the same day as the overpriced PSP Go)
Halo waypoint is genius and also a first for a videogame title. A place to receive all the Halo News, Activities, Special Access to certain content even podcasts, trailers, screenshots and more. True Halo fans will support this big time and along side these great updates you also get fully exclusive video footage that you will not be able to find anywhere else.
Treating your fans this way with such a title this big goes to show how much support not only the fans have but the creators have as well. Gamers deserve to be more involved and in tune with their favorite games and waypoint will be the destination for all things Halo.
Halo reach most likely will be the next big news in this industry and the great thing about this is that fans can now all gather around the Halo Waypoint to get early information and access to the next Blockbuster.
Halo waypoint will be presented in a all digital format and it will show off player rankings for both in-game and out-game accomplishments in relation to Halo.
Stay Tuned Halo Fans More Should Be Revealed During Comic-Con
Well I have to be honest I never saw this coming, remember back in 2008 when Behemoth released Castle Crashers on the Xbox Live Arcade marketplace to jump start Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade campaign? Behemoth did again bysurprising gamers around the world at this year’s Comic-Con by announcing that Castle Crashers will be coming to the PSN.
For the gamers out there, that are not familiar with this title, here’s a little game description. Castle Crashers is a side scrolling beat-em-up title that tells the tale of four knights on a journey to rescues several damsels in distress who have been kidnapped by this evil wizard. On the road of their journey the four knights will face countless hordes of enemies and unforgettable boss battles. One thing that is enjoyable about Castle Crashers, was that it’s an action RPG. The game lets the player earn experience points and level different stats on their knight, such as strength, defense, agility, and magic.
According to Gamespot, “The Behemoth isn’t offering much in terms of information on exclusive content for the PlayStation 3 game beyond saying that it’s still to be determined. The air of mystery also extends to the game’s release date, which the team is keeping quiet about for the moment. The best we could get out of them was that they’re working to get the game out as soon as they can and that development is going well.” “As far as how the PS3 game looks and plays, the demo that we checked out was already running well and certainly looked to be on par with the Xbox 360 game The action is smooth and responsive, and the colorful visuals look as crisp as ever. From the looks of things Castle Crashers should be a good addition to the PlayStation Network library. A straight port of the Xbox 360 game will be a lot of fun, but we’re hopeful that the PS3 version might also benefit from some additional content. Look for more on Castle Crashers for the PlayStation 3 in the months to come.”
I have to agree with Gamespot, I hope it’s not a straight port. I hope they add new boss battles and new weapons and I will be satisfy, but hey this is great news for the PS3 owners who haven’t witnessed this masterpiece yet. Check out the latest trailer:
Alpha Protocol is personally one of my sleeper titles for the Fall. Obsidian, the maker of KoTOR 2 and the upcoming Fallout: New Vegas, knows how to make great RPG’s and this game seems to integrate RPG elements and action/espionage elements really well. The major concern for me personally is if the action gameplay (shooting, weapons, hand to hand, etc.) will be just as good as those seen in games like Metal Gear or Splinter Cell. If it’s close then this game should be great with all the choices and customization. The player gets full customization of the character, their weapons, their equipment, the story, and even how they approach levels. The title comes out October 6th and I hope it sells well enough to see this branch off into a franchise. So far all the trailers and info revealed on the game seem to point to a very good new game, hopefully it proves to be just that.
