If your a die-hard Castlevania fan (like myself) we all might be surprise at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. A spokesman from Konami confirmed that Koji Igarashi is working a new project. For the gamers who don’t know who Koji Igarashi is, he has been involved with a every Castlevania title since his major involvement with Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, back in 1997.

Mr. Igarashi has overseen the development process on all three major Castlevania titles for the Nintendo DS (Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia) Based off Mr. Igarashi’s past history, if he does indeed shed light on his new project at this year’s TGS, it may be a new a Castlevania for the DS or he might surprise the hell out of all us and announced something entirely new.

It was definitely shocking to Castlevania fans when they seen Hideo Kojima take the stage at this past E3 and state that he will oversee the development process of the new title Castlevania: Lord of Shadows and not Igarashi. According to Kotaku, spokesman Jay Boor states that, “He is still at Konami, and he is still working on projects.” Boor also stated that “press questions about Igarashi’s failed to appear during the E3 debut of the Kojima-overseen Castlevania: Lord of Shadows. The new Castlevania game is being developed by Mandrid-based MercurySteam with involvement from Kojima Productions. The new title is the first major Castlevania project announced without an apparent connection to Igarashi in years.”
