It seems that theres been alot of delays of major titles lately and it looks like Ubisoft is about to add to the list of delays. It was just announced today that their highly anticipated Splinter Cell: Conviction has been delayed until the first quarter of 2010, it doesn’t stop there though, Ubisoft also announced the delay of the their Wii shooter Red Steel 2 which will also be released early next year.Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot had this to say about the delay:

“We are disappointed that we have to postpone the release of several major games but we consider that this choice is the best one in the long-term interests of Ubisoft. Lastly, we are having to adjust our full-year targets to take into account the fall in business over the first half. The excellent response to our games at E3, as well as the high buzz generated for titles such as Assassin’s Creed 2, Splinter Cell Conviction and Avatar, reinforce our belief that the company can achieve strong growth in the second half of the fiscal year.”

This delay is a dissapointment to me but there’s still plenty of games that will keep me and fellow gamers occupied until next year. What do you guys think of delay? Leave a comment.

Modern Warfare 2 Killstreak Video

Check out the first video of MW2 multiplayer. You can customize your killstreak. The guy playing was able to whip out AC130 Gunship and destroy everything in site. You can see that their are 15 different killstreak bonuses. After seeing the gunship one, I can’t wait to see what else is their. Hopefully, the other ones are just as impressive. Another thing you should note is that you can shoot down an enemy aircraft, which balances things out. The game is looking absolutely amazing.

By the way, the end is quite funny. Let me know what you think

“Variety reports that Electronic Arts’ science-fiction themed survival horror video game, Dead Space, will be a trilogy, with Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 3 in the works. The Dead Space trilogy does not include the upcoming on-rails shooter Dead Space: Extraction, which is a Nintendo Wii-exclusive spin-off of the horror brand.”

My Thoughts: WOW! EA seems to be doing it big this time around, hitting us with news after news.

Comingsoon.net Writes:

“The Electronic Arts hit video game “Dead Space” is on course to become a sci-fi/horror film , with Eagle Eye helmer D.J. Caruso attached to direct, reports Variety.

EA will produce the film with Temple Hill partners Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey .

The producers, EA and Caruso have been listening to takes from prospective screenwriters, and once they set a writer and EA signs off on a creative direction, they will auction the property to studios. That will likely happen in early September.

Dead Space is set in the 26th century in deep space, where an engineer who responds to a distress signal from a mining ship finds the vessel infested with monstrous creatures called Necromorphs. The creatures are human corpses, reanimated by an alien virus.

EA launched the game in 2008 and is working on the second and third installments.”

My Thoughts: This really doesn’t surprise me, bring on the horror!

The Darkness Sequel Is In Development

Posted by joey3d | Microsoft, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, Sony | Monday 27 July 2009 3:14 pm

Darkness

Joystiq Writes:

“During Top Crow Productions’ panel at Comic-Con, Marc Silvestri,  the comic publisher’s head honcho, announced that a sequel to The Darkness is in development.

Also, if you haven’t gotten a chance to dive into the first game, it was also announced was the fact that we’ll be seeing The Darkness in the greatest hits line-ups for both The PS3 and Xbox 360, retailing for the standard $29.99.

No release window was mentioned for The Darkness.”

My Thoughts: The Darkness was a good game with a good story behind it. Although the gameplay could have been a bit better, it deserves a play though. But I will say, the ending of the first will have you wanting more and I am glad to hear that the sequel is on the works.
