EA: New SSX Is A Possibility

EA has been giving original IPs a good shake over the past couple years, with games like Army of Two already producing sequels. SSX, an original franchise that predates the company’s recent IP push, still has fans, and EA Montreal general manger Alain Tascan indicated to GI.biz that the franchise might be brought back.

“Ah, SSX. We have a big catalogue and we were talking about what people like. I think this is something we will look at in the future to see if it makes sense to revive the franchise,” said Tascan. “It’s a little bit early to talk about it, but I feel… I know internally it is a franchise that people love because it was successful and good, and it reminds me of when we were young, and I feel if the market is there and is ready for a new one then we’ll consider it. ”

When asked about the Boogie franchise, however, Tascan indicated that there won’t be another sequel anytime soon. “I think for the moment we put it at rest, but we learned so much with this title. The first one was pretty successful commercially – we learned a lot about the control,” explained Tascan. “My kids are still playing the game and enjoying it; it was a worthwhile effort. I don’t know if we need to do another one, to tell you the truth, right away, but I know we had fun and we’re proud of what we did and I feel the quality between the first and the second drastically improved, so if you want to buy it I think you can still find it!”

A new SSX game could do well as a refreshed version for PS3/Xbox 360 or as a Wii Balance Board supporting Wii game. We cry no tears for the Boogie franchise, however.

Uncharted 2 Outperforms Every 360 Exclusive Game This Year

Posted by hiphopgamer | Microsoft, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, Sony | Friday 18 September 2009 1:23 am

Uncharted 2 has been the talk of the industry as of late with a number of great reasons to support it. The infamous showing at E3′09 is what started the onslaught of hype surrounding Uncharted 2. The key things about this game that stands out are the Graphics, Multi-player, and Single Player experiences. This game has it all but most importantly it exceeds over the competition in every way.

There’s no Xbox360 game this year that has come out with the progession to be able to compare with an update sequal like Uncharted 2. Games like killzone 2 can also be mentioned but considering that Naughty Dog made the bold statment regarding using the Playstation 3 to the max Uncharted 2 delivers in more ways than one and in more ways than the Xbox360 can this year.
