For those that plan on purchasing the God of War collection your deal just got a whole lot better. Just confirmed from Sony, the God of War collection will now include the demo for God of War 3 that was playable at E3 2009.
Let me just say that when I was at E3 the demo was incrdeible and I’m sure everyone will feel the same. So everyone make sure you pick up the God of War collection this November if you want to get your first taste of God of War 3.

Today, Eidos announced that they will be bringing out more free DLC for their acclaimed title Batman Arkham Asylum. The pack is titled “Prey in the Darkness” and it will feature two new challenge maps and you can expect it to be released on Sept.24 only on the PS3 in North America and on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in Europe.
Here’s a brief summary of what the new maps will consist of:
In the ‘Heart of Darkness’ FreeFlow Combat map, players will battle a mob of relentless and maniacal enemies at the Arkham Pumping Station. Even the most seasoned Batman: Arkham Asylum player will enjoy stepping into the boots of BATMAN to take down increasingly difficult waves of insane inmates.
In the ‘Hothouse Prey’ Invisible Predator map, players will have to rely on their Predator instincts to silently and effectively take down enemies at the Abandoned Glasshouse.
If there’s anything that we’ve learned over the years, it’s that…there are no coincidences in hiphop. Many of you sharp-eyed readers were speculating about that not-so-subtle Slaughterhouse cameo in the new “Forever” video. The four lyrical butchers stand behind Eminem during his scene, which was shot in Detroit (as opposed to the rest of the video, which was shot in Miami).
It’s a befitting finale for such a heavyweight crew cut. Eminem’s verse is fire (my personal favorite of the four) and so is the visual: seeing Em, alongside Joell Ortiz (who was once signed to Em’s mentor, Dre), Crooked I (who was once signed to Dre’s de-mentor, Suge), Royce da 5′9″ (Em’s renewed friend), and Joe Budden (who is just…Joe Budden, lol).
So here are the “rumors” that I’m hearing…
That Slaughterhouse appearance in “Forever,” was indeed a non-verbal announcement of the contract negotiations going on behind the scenes. For the past month, both sides have been working towards bringing the group to the Shady label. And that the gathering of Em and the guys at the shoot, is the first of more collaborations to come.
For now, Eminem is working on Relapse II, in Detroit. Joe is working on The Great Escape. Royce is preparing his Oct. release, StreetHop. Crooked I is working on an EP called Mr. Pig Face Weapon Waist (lol!). And Slaughterhouse will be on the road with TechN9ne for all of Oct and Nov. But fans all want to see Em plus Slaughter on a track (especially Em and Royce). Imagine the killer verse volleys!
Hopefully we’ll see some progress on this Shady/Slaughterhouse “rumor” in the next few months. It’s good for hiphop.
Netflix CEO Reed Hastings has said that the company intends to offer its service across a majority of home entertainment, including Sony and Nintendo consoles.
The company currently has an exclusive deal with Microsoft for the service in the US, but there have long been rumours that the movie rental and streaming business will eventually appear on the PlayStation 3 and Wii.
“Eventually we want to be on all the game consoles, all the Blu-ray players, all the internet TVs,” Hastings told Reuters.
“So we are working in parallel with all of those efforts. Currently our Xbox deal is exclusive and we haven’t characterised it more than that.”
Hastings also said the firm has its sights set on the mobile market, but home consoles are currently a higher priority for the company.
“(With) movie watching, we are not focused on mobile yet, but (instead) on the TV, on Blu-ray and on the videogame consoles. We will get to mobile eventually, including the iPhone.”
Earlier this year Netflix denied it was looking at bringing its service to other consoles after a job posting said the company was looking for a candidate with “years of experience both building and leading the development of games on the current generation gaming consoles.”
Over one million Xbox 360 users downloaded and activated Netflix in the first three months over Xbox Live, racking up over 1.5 billion minutes of viewing, according to Microsoft.
EB Games could be the latest retail chain joining the ranks of those that have refused to stock Sony’s upcoming PSPgo, if reports coming from Australia are correct.
According to Kotaku, numerous EB retail stores in Sydney have confirmed the console is not listed on their systems, despite its imminent release. The site also spoke to one rival retailer urging customers to preorder from its store because “EB aren’t stocking it.”
EB’s head office refused to verify the rumours, saying it would not be commenting on the PSPgo.
Meanwhile, an SCE Australia spokesperson stated Sony has received solid support from retail ahead of the October 1 launch day of the PSPgo although refused to comment on another company’s business.
“Retail support of the PSP platform includes both PSP 3000 and PSPgo,” they added. “Many retailers will choose to range both PSP models side-by-side as we continue to offer expanded choice for the consumer for the handheld device platform. As with any new product, there will be continued discussions with retail partners to continue to expand reach over time in line with growth of the entire PSP platform.”
Dutch retailer Nedgame and European chain Media Markt have already stated their decision not to stock the digital handheld – a stance ShopTo boss Igor Cipolletta said he sympathised with earlier this month.
“Sony has decided to cut publishers and retailers for the software of the PSPgo and deal direct with developers, giving them a 70 per cent margin for any items sold on Sony PSN. I believe if they had lowered that to 50 or 60 per cent, and given the opportunity to online retailers, it would have enjoyed greater success and retailers would attempt to promote the console to the market,” he commented.
Investment bank Caris has lowered it revenue estimates for Microsoft by USD 500 million based on its belief that slowing Xbox 360 sales will drag the software giant down from original projections of USD 12.8 billion to USD 12.3 billion, reports Briefing.com.
The bank believes that the slower hardware sales, while generally resilient in a tough economy, is also in part down to the aggressive price point strategy unveiled by Sony at this year’s Gamescom event in Cologne last month.
According to the firm the Xbox 360 stands to lose “modest market share” as the full year revenue estimates falls by USD 800 million to USD 59.1 billion.
The company’s share price rose slightly on the opening of the market today by 0.74 per cent to USD 25.96.
Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress, and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced that Crash Course — the second downloadable content (DLC) update for its co-operative zombie thriller, Left 4 Dead (L4D) — will be made available worldwide on September 29 on Xbox 360 and PC.
Crash Course delivers new single-player, multiplayer and co-operative gameplay to both platforms, and bridges the gap between the end of the “No Mercy” campaign and the beginning of “Death Toll” in the original game.
While containing both Survival maps and a Co-operative Campaign, the primary goal of Crash Course is to deliver a complete Versus mode experience in just 30 minutes, resulting in a streamlined version of the game’s existing Versus campaigns. A recharge timer for infected teammates has also been added, and item spawn behavior has changed for more balanced gameplay.
Left 4 Dead is an action horror game from Valve that blends the social entertainment experience of multiplayer games such as Counter-Strike and Team Fortress with the dramatic, narrative experience made popular in single player action game classics such as the Half-Life series of games. Released in November of 2008, L4D has earned over 50 industry awards from outlets around the world and sold almost 3 million copies worldwide.
