Breaking: Halo 3:ODST New Footage Single Player Campaign Is It A Hit Or Miss

Posted by hiphopgamer | Microsoft, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Wednesday 2 September 2009 1:26 am

Halo has become the king kong of the gaming world and now finally we have some serious single player gameplay footage to see if this game is the same without Master Chief. Halo Reach beta will also come out with the game so in terms of sales this game will be a huge hit but is it only the brand name that’s keeping this one alive. Microsoft has a chance to own the competition with this HALO attempt this month but judging by the footage the HALO brand name may not be seen in it’s greatest light.

The game has some great things going for it but at the end of the day it’s the same old halo minus Master Chief which isn’t such a good sign. The gameplay looks very smooth but the overall action seems a bit scaled down from previous halo games. The music in this game doesn’t help at all because it seems like it puts you too sleep instead of gearing you up for a war.

Enjoy this new exclusive footage because there’s a ton of it to see 1luv and God Bless HipHopGamerShow.com

    As I said before this game will sell a lot of software. But if yous think people are going to look at this game and say “Oh shit, I have to get a Xbox 360 for this game” then your crazy fool’s. I reckon the game will sell about 1 mil first week if it’s lucky and then go on to sell about 4 mil tops with no boast to hardware sales for microsoft.

    Kinda like Killzone 2, Infamous, and Resistance 2 didn’t sell or push hardware either right?

    Blazeitup, your ignoring the fact that Halo 3 still brings in a million games a DAY. You think it is lucky to push 1mil in one week right? The pre-orders are already at 1 million alone for this “add-on” lol. Even Modern Warfare 2 for the 360 is almost 900,000(What Boycott?) here in the states and t he PS3 version is sitting at almost 250,000 pre-orders. They just did a price drop. You don’t have a clue what effect Halo will do at the end of the month or October. You ignore the fact that no other game has garnered the type of attention Halo has done with Halo 2 was released and when Halo 3 was released just 2 years ago. Look at the effect just a couple of add-on maps make since you brought sales into it. Look at the NPD and Charttrack. The game has been in the top 30 and 40 for the last 6 months. How is Killzone 2 doing and Infamous in the charts. Killzone 2 has fallen out of the top 40 in Chartracks for almost 2 months now. Where is the push for everyone wanting to get that game. Didn’t Hiphop himself say Infamous could move consoles?
    Just to remind you, you brought sales into the discussion so please don’t pop off or anyone else claiming I am playing the sales card.

    HHG,

    Why would you show this footage for a game that isn’t even out yet just to get hits to your site? For some of us have the common sense to not click on it but all your going to get is people who don’t give a damn about Halo in the first place with responses like yeah it looks dull. You don’t even care for Halo to begin with yet we are actually supposed to go by your judgement on what is considered good with Halo?

  4. Comment by helrazor — September 2, 2009 @ 8:20 am

    I’m actually glad that I’m taking a pass on this. The first game was good (was mostly the reason I got an x-box in the 1st place), the 2nd game didn’t really do it for me, then I got the 3rd game with the intention of finishing what I had already started, and while not as disappointing as the 2nd game Halo 3 didn’t offer a satisfying conclusion. This franchise has lost all interest for me, but it will no doubt do fairly well regardless (I just don’t like buying the same damn thing over and over again).

  5. Comment by helrazor — September 2, 2009 @ 8:37 am

    @mboojigga, I’m pretty sure he just put this up, because there are people still interested in Halo, and some of them like to see gameplay, etc. to get hype up or whatever. As for going by someone else’s opinion or judgement, hhg stated his opinion, and I highly doubt anyone coming to these gaming blogs (or whatever) is so uninformed that they will just base their decision on the opinions of the author and comments about the article, as you suggest.

    @Mboojigga

    Never once in my life did I say or even think Killzone 2, Infamous and resistance 2 were consol seller’s. The fact that the game still has a million playing is why I gave that number. The other 3 million will pick the game up when it suits them and I never heard of it having a million pre orders. As for ODST selling consols. Are you seriously saying a game add on is going to shift all these consols for Microsoft when everyone that likes the series already has a Xbox 360.

    You also went way off the subject with your comment mentioning Killzone 2 and Infamous lol like what are you trying to get into here?

    @blazeitup,

    If Killzone 2, Infamous, & Resistance 2 isn’t going to sell consoles, what is? People aren’t going to buy a PS3 because its a PS3, people buy based on games.

    XBOX 360 will sell more than 350,000 consoles in the month of September, due to the release of Halo 3:ODST. You do know, there are new people pulled into the video game world via word of mouth all the time right. Those are the new entries into the Halo market.

    I’ll always talk sales, because they are relevant & stop people from making stupid comments like Uncharted 2 is going to move systems. No. The first one didnt do ****!, so what makes people thing U2 is going to sell systems is b3yond me.

    Look for Halo 3:ODST to sell more than 2,000,000 in September, remember, its released on the 22nd of Sept.

  9. Comment by dakidx — September 2, 2009 @ 10:39 am

    @otherZinc23w

    What you just said was just completely dumb. Uncharted wont move consoles because 1 didnt.
    I would believe you if there was any truth.
    Uncharted came out in november 2007, at that time the ps3 was still expensive and still lacked feature.

    Now Uncharted 2 is coming out looks better than the first has multiplayer unlike the first, the ps3 is remodeled with 120gb and is only $299, and that whole 360 will sell 350,000 in sept is just speculation. I honestly know it can but dont think it will. maybe in Oct but not sept. The ps3 on the other hand i expect it to out sell 360 in oct and Dec, this is my opinion, but if you lash out on my opinion trying to prove something makes you an idiot. (I dont argue over opinions… its not sense able)I think that the ps3 will out sell because of the 2 exclusives coming out, U2 and GT5. Then you have multiplats like CoD MW2 and AC2 that will sell on both consoles well due to both of them being the same prise(The elite) . MW2 might have a slight edge on 360 because of fans, but being as the ps3 price drop and free online, it still has a chance. But at the end of the day in all honesty a game with a big fan base and massive marketing budget will sell better than one without.

    PERSONAL OPINION!!! you know until you’ve played through this game you cant really say this.Now i could also go on a rant about the lesser selling killzone 2 n cause a fanboy riot but hey that argument is as stupid as this article. take some constructive criticizm and stop with the shit garbage articles.

    @otherZinc23w

    System selling games are the likes of Gran Turismo 5. Games that appeared on last gen consols but have yet to appear on current gen Consols. Halo 3 was one of them. Halo ODST is not one of them because Halo 3 brought everyone that likes the Halo series to the Xbox 360 already. Are you starting to understand this.

    When your talking about Uncharted 2 not moving sales, I take it your talking about our little conversation on a different news article posted on this site. But you should go back and read what I said because I said U2 will shift hardware, but not so many because it’s the second game this gen and people will buy purely for the graphics because lets face it, that game is one of the best looking games to come out and it has recieved many awards already and its not even released yet.

    Also a lot of people don’t seem to realise that these big games that Sony have had this gen so far have been new IP’s. Of coarse new IP’s won’t shift systems or sell in the million’s. You’d have to be dumb not to know something like that.

    Little Big Planet= new IP, Resistance= new IP, Uncharted= new IP, Infamous= new ip.

    The halo series had 7 years to build up to that 10 million selling mark. So save your sales talk for when GT5 releases and we’ll talk how relevant they are

  12. Comment by otherZinc23w — September 2, 2009 @ 5:02 pm

    @blazeitup,

    Gears of War= new IP, Bioshock= new IP, Left 4 Dead= New IP, Lost Planet= new IP, Mass Effect= new IP, all sold like crazy. So don’t use that excuse.

    MGS 4 had several iterations before it, what happened, let me tell you. People were not interested in watching a movie. Now SONY thinks millions are going to play a movie in Heavy Rain(SONY’s next sales disappointment), & all the media will praise it & no one will buy it, because gamers don’t play movies. MGS 4 did great 1st month, #1 on the charts NPD 774,000 & didnt make the top 10 next month, go figure. It was a movie.

    Also, I’m not arguing, this is a debate of sorts, opinions are fun & welcome, I love it when I’m right. I will be correct in over 350,000 360 sold along with 2,000,000+ Halo 3:ODST games sold with it.

    blazeitup, I’m about to read your other post, so I can be educated.

  13. Comment by dakidx — September 2, 2009 @ 5:04 pm

    well said above.

  14. Comment by blazeitup — September 3, 2009 @ 7:07 am

    @otherZinc23w

    Bioshock = 2.29 mil sold on Xbox 360, Left 4 dead = 2.35 mil sold, Lost Planet = 1.8 mil sold, Mass Effect = 2.08 mil sold.

    Little Big Planet = 2.35 mil sold, Resisitance = 3.61 mil sold, Uncharted = 2.5 mil sold, So what excuses am I using. Your just after proving my point about New Ips not selling Millions like Halo unless of course there Gears of war who was advertised for about 3 months on the tv when it first came out and went on to sell near 6 mil because of the advertisement.

    You want to talk software sales then we’ll mention the Xbox 360 having a 8 million more install base to what the PS3 has but sales for new Ips on both consols look very close to each other,

    Then we will talk about old Ip’s appearing on new system’s like MGS 4. Heres a few facts you need to Know first. MGS4 is the fastest selling game in the series. It has sold 4.75 million games world wide so far and it was released on the PS3 when the PS3 had a 13 mil install base. MGS 4 was a system seller like I’ve been saying. It did sell consols for Sony.

    As for your predicted sales I’m not going to argue over it anymore until after september when those numbers come through because it’s just going to go back and forward and I’ve a real pain in the bollocks now over it but I do have to ask. The 350,000 Xbox 360s sold that you predicted. What is that, Worldwide, In America, for the last week of September, for the whole month of September. What is it because on average Xbox 360 is selling 400k hardware a month already worldwide. You need to give more detail.

  15. Comment by otherZinc23w — September 3, 2009 @ 11:01 am

    @blazeitup,

    See, this is the illusion SONY promotes. NPD doesn’t count pack-ins, that’s the numbers you’re reporting. For instance:

    All 1st month sales NPD (no pack-ins):
    Uncharted-117,000
    Ratchet-74,500
    Warhawk-58,600
    Lair-46,500
    Heavenly Sword-139,000
    Killzone 2-323,000
    LBP-215,000 1st month, not charting any month since.
    MotorStorm- 199,000
    Resistance FoM- 1st 13months, 757,000
    MGS 4-774,000 (NO pack-ins great sales!): MGS 4 debut as a pack-in, inflating the numbers you’re showing.

    The reason 1st month sales are so important is, you never sell more than that 1st month, it is extremely rare. With the titles listed, the following month, none of these games made the top 10!

    Game sales are inflated by pack-ins, this is why you have the sales #’s you listed, they are pack-in numbers to inflate the actual popularity or success of a game for marketing purposes. Actual sales reflect a different picture for the shareholders.

    PS3 games are very overrated, if they were that good, sell mad crazy 1st month like: MGS 4, COD:W@W, COD 4, & GTA 4 did on the PS3. See, games will sell on the PS3 no matter how many consoles are on the market.

    As for that: when Gears of War was released, it sold to almost half the 360 population, to the tune of 2.5 million copies. Halo 3, did the same thing, & those that didnt have the console, bought the console for Halo 3, pushing the 360 past the Wii for 527,000 consoles sold for September 2007.

    These are all American numbers. Also, my predictions are American number, & the 360 sold 203,000 consoles July 09; PS3 122,000 same month. In America NPD my prediction 350,000+ 360’s sold for the month of September because of Halo 3:ODST.
