PSN Is Above And Beyond Xbox Lives Community
Xbox Live vs PSN has always been an interesting argument but Sony always lose this debate because of missing features. Although Sony is making a strong comeback to match Xbox Live there’s some things that PSN have the Xbox Live is missing as well and that’s the growth of the community.
Playstation 3 allows for a much bigger community for online gaming which can change the fun, and overall different experience you can have online because of the diversity of people you encounter. Xbox Live does a good job but Sony has done a great job, find out more below.

Man im through, we know good and goddamn well that psn (on PS3) doesnt have more unique users than xbox, so stop the bullshit! Im so sick and tired of these stagnant-fanboyish articles that do nothing but highlight stupidity and personal beliefs that any sane human, would know is not true.
First off, Psn consist of PS3, PSP,and their official site. The playstation 3 accounts are way over-blown. Mostly, all hardcore gamers have at least 2 accounts for region specific demos and betas. Almost everyone on my friends list (about 70) have at least 2 accounts (no bullshit). Hiphop you yourself alone have 17 accounts, i have 4, so we make up 21 ACCOUNTS!
Not only are the PS3 accounts way over-blown, but the psn totals both fucking psp and official site numbers! Together the ps3 and psp have 80 million hardware out their sold ( rounding up on vgchartz)! Not to mention the millions signed up on their site, after underground went away who didnt have a psn but was forced to create one when joining the official playstation site! So even though psn has more accounts than live crossing from ps3, psp, and official site- we know good and god damn well that when comparing ps3’s psn to live who has the most users, and by far the better community!!!!!!
I can’t believe you really said all this bullshit in one article.
1. Multiple is a good thing now? There is a reason why fake accounts are getting banned on forums.
2. 100 friends should be enough in the first place.
3. Don’t you think cross game chat is a MAJOR point for a great community?
4. Delivering a headset right away ist awesome for a community. How can you say the PSN community is better when 50% of them don’t even have a headset?
5. Movie partys are awesome. Watching a movie (or live football) together in a virtual theatre is insane for building a community.
6. 31 million ACCOUNTS, not users. You say you have 16 accounts, do you have 16 consoles? I doubt it. Plus this includes the PSP and the Playstation forums. XBL just has more unique users. 2 million users online at the same time is sick.
7. Home is, was and will be a failure. A lot of people tried this and just VERY few liked it. I highly doubt MS staff is using home.
8. Sharing your gaming moments (screenshots) with facebook is also cool. You can see every facebook friend that also has XBL and you can add them.

You’re right man, this guy seems to be a fanboi (cause everytime I come on this site, his always talking about how PS3 is better)… and the some ‘facts’ he spited out are not FACTS, sure MS may use HOME, but it’s called research, just like Sony would use xbox live for the same reason.
Now despite him saying “xbox live is good”, he always seems to say PS3 is doing it better… And that makes him a fanboi (that and the no facts stuff).

Xbox live has an entire tab on the NXE dedicated to community.if that isnt “community” enough you can buy your damn game add ons and videos qued from xbox.com. and 1v100.As of now xbox live is ahead of playstations community OBVIOUSLY. i have BOTH systems so i would know.PS3 ONLINE IS CURRRENTLY INFERIOR TO XBOX LIVE. while i can understand your observation you are indeed wrong

Im not saying your completely wrong but your wrong on alof of parts and I feel that HHG is wrong on a few parts as well. yes xbox live is better. Playstation offer’s alotas of right now. Its there first attempt to create a network. So don’t put sony down for that King because xbox was in that same position back then as well.
100 friends isn’t enough. Everyone knows that. Do you have more then 100 friends you go to school with and know very well? What if 70 of those friends have a xbox. that only leaves you 30 slots to add whoever. you can meet 30 cool people on xbox live or PSN.
Yes alot of people on playstation have mic’s and don’t have mics. I play all the time without my official Playstation headset. Only time i use it is if I’m with my friends. Other then that I don’t use it. Because I don’t wanna talk. Can you imagine how many people on the PSN are doing that same thing I’m doing? Same goes for XBL I seen it on there as well.
You talk about virtual theatre? Are you forgetting PSN has PS Home? in the american server as well as UK has 10 screens. You can watch music videos, the Playstation Blog theatre, etc. No movies isn’t playing yet but Sony said it will be soon.
Then you go on to say Home is a failure. Your completely wrong. Home is great. I find my self going in there alot. Meeting cool people in the mall etc. How you call it a failure if it still has users in there? If it was a failure would you really think people wouldn’t be in there? Don’t judge home on what it offers and what you hear about it. Thats like me saying 1 vs 100 is a failure. Because i see no point in it. Both are great services.
As for HHG I see your point but i still find some of it wrong. is PSN better then XBL as of right now? NOPE. Will it be better then XBL in the furture? YES. Sony is getting features slowly But i don’t see it being better then XBL at the moment. XBL had years to mature. PSN only had 3 years I believe? correct me if im wrong. But I truly feel Sony will have the better online in the future. I can give you one good reason why. Better voice quality. The voice quality on PSN is a hell of alot better on PSN then it is on XBL. on XBL its like they are robots and they all sound the same. Thats just one reason. I can go on to more.

Yes. Thats one reason why i bought my PS3 back in 2007. Because I know how Sony has the best exclusive’s that I love. and I’ll still say this to anyone Sony has the best Exclusive’s. Microsoft always has the same stuff. Halo. Don’t get me wrong I like halo. but I’m sick of Halo now. I have Halo 1 on PC. I put alot of hours into the Halo multiplayer and I got my xfire profile to back up my talk but Halo hasn’t changed a bit. its the same stuff over and over. You can’t even run yet. or should I even say yet? But Sony always deliver’s when it comes to games and that wins my heart right there. I love to game and if you give me the games to game I’ll will put the hours into it. Sony proves it time after time. Look at PS1 and PS2. What you think is gonna happen with PS3? PS2 have more games that I never heard of. But your are right. The games can show what the console can do. I truly feel that when it comes to games and hardware. Sony is unstoppable.
Was up ya’ll thanks for the comments man for real and like i said in the article xbox live is better than psn with the features but i’m not discussing that because that’s not my point, my point is that on the ps3 you have more ways to build your community and community means people. regardless of headsets being included in everybox, or features, the fact that i can have multiple accounts , for free, and add more than the limited 100 people that xbox live offers that enhances the overall experience why? because people have different gaming styles and skill levels and that alone is exciting.

Yeah man I understand where your coming from. Yes on the PS3 you have many ways to build a friends list. PS Home, Games, Chatrooms, PS Blog, Etc. Sony does give the gamers the freedom to make new accounts whenever they like with no charge. Only problem I have with the multiple accounts is that you can’t transfer your trophies to the new account. I would love to change my PSN name but i want my trophies to come with me. But I have a american account which is my everyday account seeing that I am from the US. (Indiana) I have a UK account I don’t use. Sometimes the UK gets demo’s that the US doesn’t. and I have a Japan account that I don’t use but like i said before its for the PS store. LOL Once you know where the demos are in the Japan store. then you’ll find your way around quickly. But yes XBL has the features that PS doesn’t offer and same goes for PSN. By the end of the day like you said before HHG its because people have different gaming styles.
I dont know man i have tried xbox live and its okay its not bad at all. But i just dont see how MS can justify the 59 dollar a year price anymore. You guys have to remember, LIVE has been around for 7 years so ya Live better have more features than psn especially if they charge you annually. PSN is a great robust service growing everyday and it has managed to catch up with LIVE in only 3 YEARS. I think by next year PSN will offer cross game chat and a lot of new stuff. And what people dont realise is that the ps3 browser opens lots of doors for doing stuff on your PS3 like watching movies streaming music or downloading music and movies using download.nl and divxcrawler.com and not to mention porn works great on the ps3 browser. Can xbox download free music or movies straight from the internet? Can you stream porn on the xbox? NO. I dont care what people say anymore, HOME is getting better every week with new mini games and game spaces, new content, and features. Plus everytime i log into HOME its packed in every space so you guys cant say no one likes HOME because its never empty or dead, ITS PACKED ALL THE TIME. PSN has netflix now, soon we will get vidzone, soon cross game chat. And please PSN do not give us a party watch for netflix, what a dumb feature. Why would i want to watch a movie with my headset on talking to my friends who wont shut up and watch the movie. I would rather just invite them to my house where we can drink some brews and watch the movie. Full xbox games on demand? PSN did that way before LIVE did, but it offers ps3 games not ps2 games oh and also ps1 games and i see ps2 games coming soon you watch.
Live is great but has been around for 7 years so it SHOULD BE GOOD. PSN has been around for 3 and has almost every feature LIVE offers plus more. The ps store beats the marketplace anyday for content. I can rent or buy movies, LIVE only lets you rent. Oh and lets not forget PS3 is just way more reliable so you xbox guys can have fun waiting for weeks for xbox repairs for the 3rd time while i watch blurays or netflix, but right now I cant stop playing UNCHARTED 2

Xbox live does care about the community there is a load of stuff on live thatlets you do this, party’s, voice chat, there is a whole community page on the dashboard, halo waypoint, twitter, facebook etc. ALthough yes you are right psn does have features that live doesnt and same goes for live, but lets just say hat psn can be better than live and that is going to be a very long time away.

You can meet people who are cool, but maybe you don’t really know them well enough to add as friend you can give them a positive note and you’ll be more likely to be matched with them and remember that Xbox Live uses a very complicated way of matching people up using Skill Matching. What’s the point of adding tons of friends, it’s not as if you’d remember them, and another point is, half of them won’t even play with you if they see you online.

And PSN having more accounts for more friends is dumb! “I’ll have to log into account 04 just to play with this particular friend or friends:/” Seriously, friends are people that will respect you and remember you.
If I can have over 70 friends and half of them don’t remember me neither do I or they don’t regularly play with me, I’m might as well just stick to random players online. Because this is exactly how it feels!

What does twitter and Facebook do to Xbox Live!? It’s not as if people will use them 24/7. Xbox 360 is a gaming system and these gamers wouldn’t use Twitter or Facebook all the time. PS3 is a multi entertainment system, and having Facebook & Twitter will please gamers. I mean what’s the use of Twitter if you can’t check out twittered links??? while PS3 has a browser function.

1vs100…sorry but that show needs to get better! I always come up from work 11:30pm, when I check for 1vs100 schedule, it’s always on 7pm:/ They need to start changing the times to be more accessible, not 7pm all the time.

Wow HipHop, I’ve been watching your show for a while now. I like it because it’s diff. I’m not a fan of the terminology lol, but you usually make good points… This last one is garbage though. The only thing that PSN does better then Live, is it does make it easier to make “new” friends with Home. That’s it! I have been using all three systems since the day they came out and have used them a lot. If you have friends and family on Live, nothing beats it, especially PSN. There is just way to much to do, and a lot more ways to do it. This last one really hurt your credibility. It’s one thing to come up with new ideas and points of view, but it’s something else to say some shit to get a reaction from people. I’ll keep watching your show, but I will have a diff point of view and take while doing so…

Microsoft is the leader right now, they are making strides in the online community and other than home, microsoft set the standard for online play right now, so how you can end the article with that community puzzles me alot. Before i scanned through these comments i said to myself, ‘the people who commented, read the title, pretended to understand the article, minds reversed back to title, then made their judgements.’ And lookey here, exactly what i saw. Basically a lot of you looked at the title, played the vid, the words went in one ear, out the other, when done your mind then skipped back to the title and then you made a conclusion, which was ‘no psn is not better than xbl. Had you read the title, it speaks about community, had you gone even further and watched and took in what was on the video, you’d see the point was that the different ways in which you can mix with people is bigger on ps3.
As an owner of both, i’d say i’m a bit iffy on the statement as i think recently 360 added a few more ways in which people can mix in the community, but for me it’s more about what you individually like. Everyone is not going to care for facebook, twitter, home etc. I personally spend 5% of my time on each console using these things.
