After previous claiming that the Quantum would remain a PlayStation 3 exclusive because it had more powerful hardware, Tecmo have now gone back on their claims and announced that Quantum will be released on the Xbox 360 in North America.

Quantum, a third person action game from Team Tachyon, has long been touted as Sony’s equivalent to Gears of War, a comparison that Tecmo themselves even welcomed. However, that’s all been completely shot out of the water now, with the news that Quantum Theory will now be appearing on both systems.

One thing’s for sure though, gamers will definitely be looking at how the game performs on each system with a fine tooth-comb, as they will be with Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII, another game that was previously a PlayStation 3 exclusive and ended up being multi-platform.

Quantum Theory is now scheduled to arrive in the Spring of 2010 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
