Square-Enix scores big with their latest installment in the Final Fantasy series, selling a million copies in the first day. The news was disclosed in statement released by Square-Enix yesterday, however, the sale figures did not include the game bundle with the PS3, the extremely attracted Lighting Edition. So one can only assume taking the Lighting Edition into account that the game probably sold a little bit more than a million.

Square-Enix announce a couple of days ago that company shipped  two million copies to retailers, which is probably going to be gone by next Monday. Hopefully our Japanese friends will leave us some Lighting Edition bundles for us to pick up in March.

Sonys Ego Cost Them Their Own Halo

Posted by hiphopgamer | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Thursday 12 November 2009 1:32 am

Sonys brand name is extremely popular and still the most dominant in the game industry but, it’s not the end all of options to go to for a great gaming experience. Microsoft has proved that a company can come from the bottom to the top with smart strategies, great games, and innovation. The Xbox360 has more than made it’s mark in this industry and with games like Halo, and Gears in their corny it will only continue to grow.

Sony has had a ton of opportunities to capitalize on Microsoft some worked, and some didnt’ but the most crucial missed opportunity was having Call Of Duty all to themselves. Sony would’ve been in such a bigger position than their in now but a couple of slip ups has kept them away from even greater strides they would’ve currently had.

Go to hell this December with Dante

What’s good gamers, we all will get an early preview of Dante’s adventure this December when the Dante’s Inferno demo hit the PS3 and Xbox 360. Check out the press release:

Coming this December, the ‘Gates of Hell’ demo includes the entire opening level and gives gamers a taste of Visceral Games’ blockbuster adaptation of Dante Alighieri’s epic poem, The Divine Comedy.

The ‘Gates of Hell’ demo will introduce players to the game’s hero, epic story and intense action gameplay, tracing Dante’s battles from the surface all the way to the Gates of Hell. Players will experience fast-paced hack-n-slash combat as they fend off waves of enemies before taking on the ultimate battle against Death. After defeating this boss, Dante will be armed with Death’s scythe, a powerful holy cross, and will be ready to tear open the Gates of Hell. The demo also features two stunning cinematic movies made by Blur, the award-winning visual effects, animation and design studio.

“Our main goal from the start of this project has been to create a journey that will make gamers truly feel like they are going through hell,” said executive producer Jonathan Knight. “The demo will give everyone some insight into how we are treating the story and a taste of the gameplay. And with nine more circles of hell to explore once the game comes out in February, we are literally just scratching the surface.”

With the God of War 3 demo coming out this month and Dante’s Inferno coming next month, oh boy, what can I say.

Microsoft On Shaky Ground While Sony Is On The Rise

Posted by hiphopgamer | Real Talk with the HipHopGamer | Wednesday 28 October 2009 1:17 am

Microsoft is a force to be reckoned with in this industry especially since the 2005 debut of the Xbox360. They were the first to come in the market, introducing Hi-Definition gaming content on a console, offering the definitive online experience and a major feature that has become the sleeper hit of all time and that’s ACHIEVEMENT POINTS.

Microsoft knew the competiton from Sony wasn’t too far away so they prepared for battle early and for a good year and a half it seemed as if this console war was over by a slaughter but slowly and gradually things started to change. The first major impact that Sony had was winning the format war over HD-DVD, then came the first price cut, Now the games are becoming big leaps over the competition, and the main thing that’s left is additonal features to the online service.

Microsoft appears to be on shaky ground and the video article below will expose everything in great detail so make sure to leave a ton of comments and realize that the console war is officially heating up.

Grand Turismo 5 a 3 Disc Game?

Posted by Killa-Indian | Features, Real Talk with the HipHopGamer, Sony | Tuesday 20 October 2009 12:15 pm

Check out the video. At 53 seconds in it shows a possible packaging option for the game. Even though it shows a thicker casing, it can mean many things. The video clearly shows that the thicker casing is housing 3 smaller cases. One red, one blue, and one black. It can mean many things. It can be a special edition, or the game may really require 3 discs. I highly doubt that since Polyphony probably want to release this through PSN. Anyway, here are some close up shots
